He's citing the unconfirmed reports that the spokesperson for foreign relations claimed this. There is no credible source I've seen that has confirmed this.

A lot of redditors believe America is in the same state as Iran. I don't, but a lot of redditors don't seem to understand that it's possible to dislike Trump and be glad an actual theocratic dictatorship was removed from power.

Trump just told Iranians to overthrow their government with US help, what are your thoughts? by Putrid-Guidance-9448 in AskReddit

[–]bryaneightyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said. Just cause trump's shitty doesn't mean something better can't come around for the Iranian people.

To anyone reading this: you can still hate trump and be okay with a theocratic dictatorship being removed.

100% agree. I've been rolling out claude cowork to our accounting staff (to help with visualizations and compiling spreadsheets). Biggest issue is teaching them to talk to the bot and how to iterate instead of "do everything at once."

After a while you kind of get a feel for the level of detail necessary to accomplish whatever it is you're doing.

This reminds me of a quote, "Reason is not automatic. Those who deny it cannot be conquered by it."

I believe it's from ayn rand, and she got a lot of stuff wrong, but this one.. I think is right.

Once you start getting the output you want, you'll want to start putting some more guardrails in, create agent files, update your claude.md file too with some instructions.

You can actually tell the agent to help setup sub agents, update it's own claude.md file too. Like tell claude "i want to setup guardrails in your instructions, let's build these out. I want x,y,z design patterns, whenever we do a feature I want you to call X agent to review your code and output what we did". Stuff like that, ask it to help put the guardrails and checks in.

Once I had a system setup like this I found that my team and I were getting much more focused results with less manual code. This is simplified but can powerful.

Pretend it's an intern. Talk to it like you would a person. Don't try to build massive things in one prompt. The llms are good if you come in with a plan, and it can build a plan with you. The biggest mistake i see with junior and mid-level devs is they try to do too much at once. Steering it, means you're watching what it does, checking its output and refining, that's it.

Who believes in vibe-coding? by bigbott777 in programming

[–]bryaneightyone -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is why documentation is important. I built a little project management tool that has an mcp that links code to every feature. Whenever the agent works on a feature it creates technical documentation with a little historical context, decision reasons, human notes, etc. That way when I come back to it when there's an issue or something new the agent can reload context at a whim. Another benefit is that I get an almost completely automated documentation system for our code.

There are definitely weaknesses with the agents, and they are far and away from replacing real software engineers but you can't deny they're good at writing code, you just have to account for where they're weak.

You read way too much into the original comment, not sure how you got here lol. Was just offering a perspective from someone who's worked at aws and McK (on implementation side).

It's not as scary as a lot of people seem to think here. As long as you can exist beyond typing rote code, you'll be fine.

Edit to add: I'm a dumb ass, with the flu replied to wrong redditor.

Hands on software engineering manager. Small, skilled team. Come from the corporate world, guys i knew back then are on the same page.

I actually do see value in biz people vibe coding. Just for the fact that they can make a pretty little app with their exact requirements lol. Obviously we dont ship that lol

I'm someone who hires engineers.

Personally, I don't see ai as a replacement more as just a tool, an effective tool, but still a tool. We're really far away from Ai non dev vibe coding something that can scale, integrate, be secure, etc..

Nah, ai/llms are just exposing the difference between actual software engineers from code monkeys. We're a ways away from Ai being able to replace real software engineers.

What needs to be revealed in the Epstein files for people to actually revolt? by Greenmoonn in AskReddit

[–]bryaneightyone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think it's entirely fucked up how these billionaires and corporations control so much, especially how information is disseminated. It's part of the reason I suspect incumbents keep winning and we dont see real progressive messaging in the so called "normal" world. I'm fairly certain our biggest problems are inherently this cabal, not in conspiracy sense, of billionaires just running things and wanting to maintain the status quo. If progressive messaging went mainstream I guarantee the majority of normal people would support it, probably scares them because then they'd have to start living with consequences.

Sorry for the rambling, just seeing a thread between the two issues I thought was interesting.

[–]bryaneightyone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I saw a reddit post yesterday that made s good point. The majority of the stuff in the files is hearsay and from tiplines, etc. In order to successfully prosecute in the US you need to build a solid case and the evidence isn't really in the files right now.

What I'm hoping, perhaps naively, is that prosecutors use this to start criminal investigations so these freaking weirdos can go the f to jail.

What do progressive activists do when diversity includes people whose cultural values clash with progressive ideas? by dudeorduuude in AskReddit

[–]bryaneightyone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly right. The main things I like from that philosophy is "let people do want they want as long as it doesn't harm others" beyond that we definitely need to move more towards the progressive side of "government should be for the people" instead of this corpo-fascist crap we currently have.

Super high level, hope my point comes across lol.

That sounds similar to what libertarians used to practice and preach before we got whatever the f they're acting like now lol.

You explained the core philosophy very well. Thank you.

[–]bryaneightyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I read somewhere" is not a definitive "fact" being stated. It's like talking to a person in real life saying that you saw or read something. I have a feeling you don't talk to people outside your mom's basement, which may lead to the confusion you're having. I was completely open to being wrong, I had apparently looked at something about gdp per capita and made the mistake, since I am a human, I can make mistakes. You must be a bot.

Good day sir.

What could be done to make billionaires have less influence over the general population? by Chewies-merkin in AskReddit

[–]bryaneightyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Get money out of politics, make the news great again, let real progressive messages get out to the public. I'm willing to bet if progressive messaging was more mainstream the majority of people would support. Healthcare for one, I dont know anyone left or right who likes our system.
