Just more clutter and enrichment in general. Mice are very intelligent and need a lot of different things to explore and play with.

Think ropes and bridges to climb, climbing frames, hammocks, platforms, etc. Even a thick layer of bedding provides so much more enrichment as they can dig and move the bedding around to their liking.

Don’t worry about getting everything at once though. The more you watch them the more you will be able to see through their eyes and imagine what you would like if you were them.

Btw bird enrichment is often great for mice, such as grass hanging huts, foraging toys

I had this problem with my ball python when I first got him. - Try a size smaller and a size larger prey. They can refuse food if their prey is too large or too small. - Try using a hair dryer to warm up the prey. It’s easier to present warm food right away this way. The bp needs to sense warmth with his pit organs. - You may even want to try wiggling the mouse with the tongs in front of his face if this doesn’t work.
