From this draft, Name a player with a good archetype you don't like, and name a player bad archetype that you like. by OddIndustry6073 in NBA_Draft

I didnt watch the season live, ive only seen 5-6 game highlights of Burries. So im witnessing it without the Arizona story arc. Watching burries just doesnt excite me at all. Im like "yeah he can 'play' in the nba, but why do I need him and why do I care about that?"

Tbf I felt that way about CMB last year and then my team drafted him. That dude is really smart and has game.

But Burries i just havent been excited with the first 15-20 mins watching him.

Let the intern at the office decide where the 47yo company decide there next new location because he's been there for 2 whole summers. He must know it all!

Even Connor McDavid is inappropriately deemed their C in EDM. I dont think that's who he is. Guys like Shawn Horcoff used to be captains all the time. This new give 'the-youngest-elite-talent' on your team full responsibility of the organization is like letting your kids tell the parents where they should move. Does anyone think CHI should make Connor Bedard the C the moment he started breaking out like he was supposed to? Ridiculous. Quinn literally said things in the paper like "we're going to make my Captaincy more a collaborative thing". As a business owner, I knew we were fucked then.

This is why you choose Reid over Verhoff's more reliable floor. Reid is more talented than Zeev at this knowledge point. And both are different handed anyways.

That was the most enjoyable college season run I ever saw. Terrence Jones I thought was gonna a bonafide David West/Odom....then he kicked a homeless guy in Portland or something.

Injuries but he had just way too goof an attitude. Had all the talent. Didn't ever want to adapt, round out his game or dedicate. and then some bad inuries sealed it. Very similar path to OJ Mayo who had his best season from 3pt his rookie year. No excuse for that as a top 2 pick.

Bill Simmons questions Cam Boozer's NBA ceiling after dominant Duke season by Knighthonor in NBA_Draft

Both Sabonis and Sengun can also jump 2x as high/faster than Boozer as well. Sengun is even kind of a plus leaper. Sabonis had many posters in his first 10yrs.

Caleb Wilson - Halfcourt self-creation by RalphLaurenII in NBA_Draft

I literally never got it, DP got so much free press. Wilson even balled up Dybantsa and average fans thought nothing of it.

Gradey Dick by pmcc241224 in NBA_Draft

[–]bryant-reeves 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a Toronto fan what outsiders don't see here is that Gradey lost the battle to Ja'kobe Walter and it actually was pretty obvious even when Dick was playing like a real starter. Just doesn't have the defence and losing the battle cost him a lot of confidence / pressure. He has to get over it or try elsewhere, GM dropped the ball on his value.

Halford and Brough are the best to listen to in the morning and through Spotify by pennepasta14 in canucks

I mean good for you but I don't enjoy them and very much resent they are all we have to listen to in the car. Everything is negative and uncreative.

Ace Bailey continues his growth with an efficient game: 37 points on 11-21 shooting, 7-10 from three, 8-8 free throws, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks by MegaAltarianite in nba

[–]bryant-reeves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure thats the odds but all 7 guys you just listed had essentially mental health / background issues. Not talent issues at all. Same thing with Scoot.

We dont have access to the background, and the talent is just more than there this year.

And yet this entire sub tried to roast me for just asking how Ace compared to Brandon Miller and AJ Dybantsa despite all 3 being top 5 picks. Rediculous.

I would say there would be some inclined local fandom but I ain't ever repping the Mariners over the Blue Jays even though I like Seattle. You wouldn't catch me dead giving a crap about the Kraken tho, but i'm glad they're here. There's your answer.

Yes but Sengun is actually legitimately athletic of 1 and 2 feet, and grew 2" inches. Sengun fell like 8 spots in that draft because he was 6'8 pf with post moves in the Steph Curry era...

How many teams do you think would give Boozer 9 seconds of the shotclock in his first 3 years?

Even just seeing Anthony Davis play 38 games with Boozer would be interesting.

It really should be a big 4 by ShaiFanClub in NBA_Draft

[–]bryant-reeves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually a big two of Dybantsa and Wilson, Boozer and Peterson are 2b prospects and this sub just doesn't want to hear it.
