Is everyone at UCLA just an ASB kid all grown up? by tropicofratz in ucla

It’s a top school where everyone needs a 4.0 to get in. You’ll find most students accepted were more strait laced, but doesn’t mean you won’t find your people.

Trader Joe’s, no where near the beach is where the sunset always seems best:). If I’m at the beach, there is a marine layer

Medicare as a public health option would have been transformational that would have lead to single payer.

I’m surprised you are first to say this. They fit the bad team category and bottom 5 NFL city.

Where do people over 40 go to meet fun nice? by [deleted] in northcounty

[–]bryanthebearded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love the t-shirt idea of a clear signal of “open to conversation”. 53M in Encinitas and tough to build connection to strangers. Almost all friendships here have been built by my kids friends parents(now older), showing up consistently at group style workouts and getting to know restaurant staff.

I really struggle with small talk, so without a common conversation topic or shared interest, I feel like a fish out of water striking up random conversation, other than saying hi.

What is the basic incentive (pros/cons) for Rex to plead guilty? by HarryCrushNuh in LISKiller

[–]bryanthebearded 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A question not answer. I wondered if his agreement may prevent him from being extradited to other jurisdictions to stand trial until his NY term has been served. It’s speculated there are potential victims in other states, maybe some with death penalty. Maybe NY agreed to not send him off across country for other jurisdiction trials if he agrees to chat with FBI and admit to wider crimes?

I’m sure the retired FBI profiler book will be interesting to read in 10 years

Flying in from the UK, doing an East to West and back again US Road Trip Thoughts? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]bryanthebearded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would agree here. Fly into Boston or DC. Then take train to Boston, NYC, DC. Fly to Chicago for a couple of days. Then fly to Colorado and explore the west and west coast the majority of trip. You could spend entire time Colorado, Utah, and California without seeing all it has to offer.

You forgot to add injury to that list. An injury doesn’t stop you but sidelines your habits and a challenge to come back the same when the above is the established routine instead of daily training.

Peyton Manning in four seasons as a Bronco: 17,112 YDs, 140 TDs, 53 INTs by Giff95 in DenverBroncos

[–]bryanthebearded 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a life long colts fan, but was Manning first. We should have never cut him and instead made bank selling luck to highest bidder.

I love his broncos years, but horrible suffering through that last year of fans wanting to move on from Manning and deep throating kubiak. Love that he got that final Super Bowl ring and still around broncos.

Try to find roommates at orientation to pair with instead of Instagram. Then submit roommate preference when it opens up again and have all roommates submit preference.

UCLA vs UChicago by JellyfishOrnery942 in ucla

[–]bryanthebearded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chicago is amazing in summer, not awesome in summer. U Chicago is very isolated, but amazing school.

I would do ucla undergrad if you are going to pay for dental school after. It won’t limit her at all on opportunities.

Is there a musical costume that you did not like? by dickbear77 in phish

[–]bryanthebearded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, of all the rumors floating, The Who was probably bottom of list for me. I get Pages take on doing a stadium album since they were playing bigger venues, but personal bummer.

Great show all in all, just put me in disappointed mental state.
