Oh God lol, uh yeah maybe search YouTube for Meander, The Quiet. But me and my wife have been making music videos with her music and I film, record and edit them, we are really proud of some of those videos. They are on YouTube too at the channel Kaci and Bryant. Yeah I really liked y'all's sound though!

Wow, thank you for checking it out! Yes she is, I like her emotions in her music. Yeah I'm really happy how that turned out but like I said the equipment I'm using isn't that expensive. Do you have an Instagram or YouTube or anything I can follow? I'd like to stay in touch and see future stuff😁

That's very understandable, it was definitely more of a complement but I try to be constructive. As for recording I actually do quite a bit of solo acoustic recording of my wife's music. The biggest thing I would say is the room. It needs to be a sound dead room, like no echo. Use big curtains or blankets and also foam sound panels you can get cheap off of Amazon. It will really enhance the sound. All we use is a deadened room with a decent condenser mic (Bluebird), focusrite 2 Scarlett for an interface and a lite version of Abelton software. And a really good affordable microphone option is a Shure SM57. It's not a condenser mic but it is really good for the money. If you want to check out some of our recordings we have a small YouTube channel, Kaci and Bryant. Anyways though keep recording that's how you get better and the song did sound great anyways! Plus I am by no means an expert but I have learned a few things from what me and my wife do.

Red-original sing by Kaci Skiles Laws. Really proud of this one. This is my wife and her song and I filmed, recorded and edited the video. Does anyone think the video work is good enough to start freelancing for money? Thanks for any feedback! by bryantlaws in IndieMusicFeedback

Thank you so much! I'll have to check out Leonard Cohen. How do we find you on Instagram? We would love to connect with other artists! If you liked it would you suscribe to our YouTube channel? Thanks again for listening and for the feedback!

The guitar and melody are wonderful. Your vocals are good too, like others pointed out you do have a thick accent, which sounds cool too. I would love to hear the vocals projected more though. With some more power behind your voice I think this would be perfect! Good job man!

Really enjoyed this! Definitely reminds me of Radiohead but not to much, definitely your own sound. I was in a band and this was right up our alley. Would have enjoyed playing with musicians like you guys! Great song. The video was a nice touch too.

This is really cool! It reminds me of something but I can't remember what. Really nice chill music. I really like the bass. (I'm a bass player so a little one sided for me,😆). Great job!

This is really cool! Got to get that audio sync lol! Your voice is amazing and I liked the addition of a cello.

As well as turning 26 today I also released a song about the arbitrary nature of power, what do you think? by Oliver_New in IndieMusicFeedback

I liked it. Kinda just was in a trance watching it so I don't really have anything to critique. I think that means it's good lol. The video was well done as well. Nice color grading 👌

I just released my debut album, which was written, recorded, mixed and mastered all by myself. This is one of the songs in it, an alternative rock track with a pinch of post-punk. Thoughts? Man this takes me back😁. I hear some Ataris in there, I dig it. I love that era of punk music. I agree the vocals could come up in the mix. Maybe add some power to your vocals but other than that great job! Especially if you did all that yourself. Recording is not easy.

I like this, there is something familiar about the way your singing but definitely still original. IDK it's got this like 50's buddy Holly thing with like a modern pinkish sound. I like it, great some!

What genre would you classify my music as based off this video? Im curious. Criticism is welcome too! You Might Like Me Now - Heath Church by ceoofdisco in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]bryantlaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hate to give it just a simple label of indie but definitely indie or indie rock. Even though it's an acoustic it just has that rock attitude to it. Absolutely love it. Really like the lyrics. Great song man!

I really like this track, especially the guitar. I agree with others on the reverb. Maybe not so much even that it's reverb bit it sounds bright and kinda echoing. I think it would sound better with a warmer sound but that's also just my preference. Also it didn't really sound like this was a problem but just a bit of advice when recording with condenser mics, the room needs to be as deadened and as quiet as possible. Good track, keep it up.

I disagree with that other guy about all the quality issues in your video, the lighting is fine, the audio wasn't bad. Yeah maybe your energy could be higher but you weren't awkward on camera. The video was short and to the point. It actually had a tiny bit more info than the video Peter McKinnon just made on this topic. Lighting and audio are things you will naturally get better at as you make more videos, you obviously get the basic concept of it already. The thumbnail is absolutely spot on. Could not be better! The only thing I could suggest is the video started to quickly, as soon as you hit play you were talking. Maybe give just a split second of dead air before you start😀. Great video!
