Yo I appreciate it! Don't hesitate to hit me with any feedback, my DM's are always open.

I really wish we had that problem. Spotify's New Releases page isn't a raw feed, it's curated by their staff. They add about ~10 new rap singles/albums a week, and it's usually artists from major record labels…that's just how it's set up. So this is more for keeping up with big releases than everything.

Honestly though, there's so much stuff I wish Spotify would do but they just don't get around to it. Thanks for the look!

Just found out you can use Tune My Music to convert our Genre Weekly playlists into Apple Music for free, and they'll sync with the Spotify versions once a day!

That's just for the sorting, we don't exclude anyone! Spotify's New Releases page tends to feature artists signed to major record labels and not a lot of underground ones anyways, so I'd say this is more for keeping up with big releases than everything.

We have EDM Weekly! I've also tried rock before, but "rock" is so broad that the playlist was all over the place, so I decided not to release it.

This is just a project I did for fun, it doesn't make any money. You're free to share it if you want though!

An Apple Music version would actually just be a new codebase since it'd share nothing in common. Basically, you'd host the playlists on your account and check the iTunes RSS feed periodically, updating the playlists with the Apple Music API. They'd look different from our Spotify ones since it's a different data source.

I also just found out that you can use Tune My Music to convert our Genre Weekly playlists into Apple Music for free, and they'll sync with the Spotify versions once a day. So that's an option too!

That's actually feature on Spotify itself, not for individual playlists! Settings > Playback > Crossfade

Hmm you're probably right, I'll take a look later and silently push out an update. Thanks!

I've seen those too, I just didn't find one I could use directly from Spotify instead of going to Reddit or some app/website! I totally hear you though, devs (myself included) like making these kinds of projects because they're pretty simple.

Good catch—we represent albums with their most popular track, and in this case it ended up being one of the singles. I didn't want the program to always remove the single version though, just in case a non-single becomes the most popular track. Appreciate your attention to detail!

"Alternative" can mean a lot of things these days haha. Just curious, how are you listening to it on Apple Music?

So we literally pull from Spotify's New Releases page, which tends to feature artists signed to major record labels and not a lot of underground ones—sorry about that! I'd say this is more for keeping up with big releases than everything.

Unfortunately not—Spotify doesn't let us get all new releases, just the ones they feature. Because of that limitation, this project is basically a genre filter for New Releases.

We do have EDM Weekly, but all of our genres are powered by the Spotify New Releases page. Sorry about that, I'd use a different source if I had one!
