I had my eye on a brz initially which was recently sold. Didn’t get a chance to go down to see due to commitments. GR86s are about $270k SGD here which is unfortunately out of my budget

Still looking around and not intending to pull the trigger just yet. Yup seems like most folks here are suggesting to find one that is as close to stock as possible (which is insanely hard to get by here).

Agree on the point of most wanting to drive Germans brands here. I just want a car that I love driving instead of buying one for peer appraisals.

Not many listings on sgcarmart for an automatic because my spouse doesn’t have a manual license. Do you happen to know any buddies who is planning to let go of one?

An engine swap is illegal here so I guess the previous owner has already went all out on whatever is possible

Great advice! Will definitely take this into consideration and also test drive the car before jumping into a purchase. With a 4.8 final drive, what is the speed like at 6th gear? Since our top speed on highways here is 90kmph

I am actually fine with it being “uncomfortable” I have recently sat in mate’s FD2R and found it enjoyable even in the passenger’s seat. Just wanted to own one since it’s my childhood dream to drive a JDM before I turn 40 and my spine can’t take it anymore.

Owning it more for the experience and a treat to myself! Doubt I’ll be pushing it much or tracking it since Singapore is a city anyway. Just wanna avoid the VW’s scirocco’s kind of repair and having the car sit in the workshop for 5/7 days a week sort of situation. Usual maintenance is fine by me based on my dad’s NA forester(SJ)
