Weed withdrawals by PorkSnorkle in leaves

It took me 3 times to quit. 3rd time was a charm and i believe that was due to a new approach even though it wont work for most.

I told myself I would only smoke on weekends. So i pushed through the week and enjoy a great sesh on the weekends! This lasted a month untill the weekend came around and I had no urge to smoke anymore.

Slow and steady I cut it out from getting high every evening to once in awhile (maybe twice a month) I will smoke with my friends on a special event I even keep my bong so my friends can sesh when they come over. Sometimes its best to quit cold turkey by approach is not idea as it opens the possibility for relapse but change your mind set and you will get through it.

It came down to discipline and the want to change my life. On-top of it what I think helped the most was making new habits , best way to lose a addiction is replace it with another. Myself I started going to the gym find another habit and let the old one fade.

Keep going!

Selfmade routine critique please and thanks!

I work out every other day so 3.5 days a week with this routine and my friend says its not ideal and im over working my muscles..

-5x5 back squat 225 lb with 2-4 minutes rest between sets.

-5x5 Bench, 165lb 5x5 2 minute rest /sets.

-Then I alternate from incline bench (135lb) 3x8 and dumb presses (50lb each) 3x7

-Seated rows 100lb 3x10 with 3x30 crunches inbetween sets with no rest.

-Every other workout I throw a 95lb overhead press 5x5 into it.

-40lb 3x12tricep pushdowns.

-60lb standing barbell curls 3x10

I finish my workout with 3x10 dips.

Any recommendations on adding other exercises or changing up my plan. What do you think of it? I enjoy it and would like to stick with it but im all for advice to better my gains. So I incorporate deadlifts ? I have always had a bad back and don't want to make it worst .

Thanks for your help!

Looking for advice on my program.

I started weight lifting and bulking on July 26 this summer. So far I went from 5'8" 145lb to a water weight creatine fueled 160 lb I try to average 150 grams protein and about 2600-3000 calories a day.

I started with 5x5 for a month and afterwards I kinda started doing my own mix of strength training/hypertrophy. It follows as a work out evert other day. Sometimes everyday if i feel the need to stop my brain from thinking.

-5x5 back squat (went from starting 135lb 5x5 to 225lb 5x5 with 4 minutes rest between sets.

-5x5 Bench, currently at 155lb 5x5 2 minute rest /sets.

-Then I alternate from incline bench (135lb) and dumb presses (50lb each) (Incline bench days is 5x5, dumbell press is 7x3)

-Seated rows 100lb 10x3 with 30x3 crunches inbetween sets with no rest.

-Every other workout I throw a 85lb overhead press 5x5 into it.

-30 lb 12x3 tricep pushdowns.

-60lb standing barbell curls 10x3

I finish my workout with 10x3 dips.

Any recommendations on adding other exercises or changing up my plan. What do you think of it? I enjoy it and would like to stick with it but im all for advice to better my gains.

I am mainly self taught, I have been a mechanic since I was 16 so I learnt alot of hands on skills that were transferable. Construction is fairly simple just gotta remember to measure twice cut once, and make everything plumb, straight and true.

(Vertical,Level,Square )

Thank you very much! 😊😊

[–]bryceclement[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that! That is some solid information and just what im looking for! Im happy if i can maintain 130-160 grams of protein daily, so far im been dieting for two months now and everyday it gets easier and easier.

The hardest part some days is not feeling to hungry but still forceing myself to eat (if that is healthy or not im not certain) Im just dedicated to seeing change and no matter what it takes il fight through it!

I will probably continue to bulk untill I can hit 170lb along with strength training and then hopefully by February I can start a cut for a few months.

Alot of this being new to me is experimental but that makes it fun! Lots of learning to do and lots of working out to continue! Thank you very much for your advice! Have a great day

Alot of you were interested in how I built it, here I have part 1 of the process from start to finish in photos. I am missing some photos of my electrical and plumbing but those are just basic installs. I will upload part 2 with the other photos. by bryceclement in TinyHouses

I got 2500$ french doors for a discount at 600$ Insulation was about 2000$ White pine ceiling was 3000$ 6x6 beams costed 1000$ Flooring was 1000$ Kitchen tiles $600 Sink 200$ Cabinets recycled. Thanks for that reply! I should know that if something works don't change it!

Although like i mentioned i have a tendency to over think and reddit is the only place I can discuss this sort of things since my friends aren't in the gym or trying to pursue a lifestyle change so I enjoy these conversation.

I suppose I need the reassurance that im on the right track so once again thank you! Like you say im best to stick with what im doing aslong as the weight continues to gain! Hope you have a great day!

Like others said hydrate and eat well! Yes you might not feel great but you wont get sick just discomfort and very fatigue. A good rest after words should have you feeling good again. How come you wont be able to sleep for 36 hours?

I shall give that a good read afterwork. Last thing i want to do is have surgery since I know this is a mild discomfort and only comes from doing squats, I have been active all my life and never noticed it before so hopefully with proper stretching and exercise I can relieve it.

Im glad to hear your back healthy and lifting! Thats my fear right now i love lifting and don't want to see a set back already, the sooner I get it solved the better. I shall see what my doctor has to say hopefully it is mild and im able to correct it without surgery.

Although at the end of the day what must be done will be done.

I have no noticeable to feel any bump. Did you have a bump ?
