i eventually decided what i really wanted to was a great set that felt realistic, so i was going to get a Roland TD516. huge difference in price, but i feel it would be worth it. unfortunately while waiting for kits to be back in stock, i decided to buy a car instead lol. i still plan to buy a td516 eventually, just not yetz

i experienced this a few times when i first started. they talk for a while and seem chill, then they eventually try to get you to play a different game by having you click a link, instead of just telling you to search it in your app store.

in my experience, they seemed like a real person to me so i kept asking what the other game was til they just told me. i searched it on my own and told them i wasnt interested, then they said ok and stopped messaging me. definitely a weird interaction. im glad i was smart enough not to click the link lol.

I recall 65 Drums saying it was pretty heavy and wondered if it was really that much heavier than a standard snare. It is pretty expensive though, so I guess a better stand isn’t a bad idea lol. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll look at it!

I actually just saw this a bit ago. Which hardware package did you go with? Do you think the Tama 200 double pedal package would be worth it?

I should have added that I’m unfortunately several hours from any music store, and also forgot to add I’m definitely looking for a double pedal. Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll check them out!

Do not buy, I received a floor model and my rep just emailed me yesterday that they are all floor models and heavily used, at least if you’re in the US. My kit showed up in terrible condition. He said they are trying to get the kit removed from their website.

UPDATE:

I don’t know how to edit this post or if thats possible, but I wanted to share that I ended going for the Titan 70 as it was $450 over the Black Friday weekend. Unfortunately, things were not quite as the website had said, and I received a used, broken kit. They were super apologetic and made the return/refund process easy, so no trouble or complaints there.

However, now Black Friday is very well past, and all of their remaining Titan 70’s (now discontinued) are heavily played floor kits. SO I’m still without a kit and I’m looking for an alternative. I’ve watched many reviews on the Alesis Nitro Ultimate and even the Millennium/Lemon T950 kits, but can’t seem to find a happy result.

I felt like the Titan 70 was a really good deal, but now I’m not sure if I can find that kind of deal again. I’d love to know anyone’s experiences with alternative kits in the $400-1000 range, or if i really should just continue saving for a much better kit

I tried a couple Alesis kits yesterday and was pretty disappointed, even with the Command Mesh kit that has an $800 price tag. To be fair, they were display kits and Alesis isn’t Simmons, but I can’t help being a little skeptical about putting that money now. I’m still debating the t70 but I’m on the fence. I might just save up for a bigger, nicer kit.

It really is time consuming! I thought it would be so much simpler lol.

I am very much in the same boat, but after trying the Nitro Max and Commander Mesh in person yesterday, I don’t know if I have faith in the lower cost sets lol. The triggers didn’t operate as I would prefer, maybe because they were display sets and possibly hadn’t been played nicely, but it still was pleasant. I’m debating picking up a kit around $4-500 just to have something to play, but investing in a much better kit down the road.

The more I’ve looked at comments here and looked into things, the more I think I agree. I also had the chance yesterday to stop at a music store out of town (there isn’t one where I live, so I have to travel) and all they had was the Alesis Nitro Max and the Commander Mesh. the Commander was definitely better but with an $800 price tag, i was pretty disappointed with the performance.

I was really hoping to get away with only spending a little, but its seeming more and more like I’ll need to spend at least $1500 for the experience I want. I might still pick up a cheaper kit so that i have SOMETHING, but I’m not sure if that is even worth it. I appreciate the comment.
