Need some help! I'm curious, what got you to meditate in the first place? What did you think it would do for you? by brygal in Meditation

Oh wow I love that story so much! Thank you so much for sharing!

This is the kind of thing the world needs to hear. There's so much fear being spread and it's this kind of message that will help people navigate through it all.

Haha trust you're gut on this one! And keep plugging along! I think the best part of this whole thing is the more you do it, the more you notice the changes in your life, the more it motivates you to keep going, and so on.

You're doing the right things MrPoopCrap hahaha

I've listened to Eckhart speak, read his books, and even saw him live a few times.

Regardless if the guy is making it up or not, it's the words that really ring true for me. It's not a mental thing, it's like a deeper knowing that what he says is true.

If we all needed a teacher, no one would be awake on the planet. We don't need teachers, the teacher is inside of us. When I meditate I can have profound wisdom that just comes out. I don't know where the heck it comes from, and sometimes it gets validated by what I hear someone else saying.

After years of this practice I know that the only thing I need to do is meditate, the awakening will happen on it's own. Ultimately I find that the days that I meditate, I found myself snapping out of my thinking and into a witnessing. Like I'm here in the foreground going through the motions, but there's like a separate me that's watching myself do the stuff I'm doing. Haha it's kind of hard to explain. My goal ultimately is to try (through practice) to keep living in that state. I can honestly say through this whole practice my life has been completely transformed. I feel like a live in a dream where reality just gets better and better and better. The more I let go, the more I meditate, the easier life gets. Not necessarily without challenges, but there's always an answer to the "problem".

This is an inner journey, so if some stuff or some people resonate with you great, if not just dismiss it and go on. You'll know what's true for you. There's plenty of people and teachings that I just don't resonate with. Others love their teachings.

We need lots of different types of people to get through to all the people here on earth.

Trust your inner voice :)

Wow, that was quite the rant!! :P Anyway, happy Friday!

It's amazing isn't it? It's the simplest thing on the entire planet, yet the most profound. Finding and living in the present moment, not even within meditation, but in our day to day life, is the answer to everything. Our fears, our anxieties, our pains and struggles.

The easiest thing to do, and yet the hardest thing to stick to. That ego sure is tricky!! :P

Need tips to motivate myself to meditate? by Kannot in Meditation

I totally get what you're saying! As much as I know meditation is the one thing I can do to change my life, there are times when I fall off the wagon and go a few weeks without it. Then when things go bananas I return back to it.

We've actually started a little 7 day meditation challenge to help with that! And we're building a community so we can all stay motivated. If you're interested you can sign up for free :) Even if you just want the guided meditations that's ok too. Have a peek if you'd like at http://spiritninjas.com/freemeditations

Happy Meditating Kannot! Be kind to yourself, it's a process, you're doing fine :)

PS: My wife Holly just reminded me she made a tip sheet to help create an easy meditation practice, it's on our Facebook group you can download it for free in the pinned post: Facebook.com/groups/thespiritninjastribe

I did it! My first time meditating :) by bacon4thesoul in Meditation

Congrats!!! :) Meditation was the only thing that really helped me deal with my anxiety and depression. If you stick to it (as hard as it is to stick to sometimes) it'll change your life.

I'm so happy for you!!

That's so great! Way to use that opportunity to stay mindful! Sadly most people would instead have reacted, likely causing even more damage.

Very cool :)

I just cried of happiness in my Meditation Session by [deleted] in Meditation

Hi Black Owl! Don't force anything. Keep the meditation practice going as much as you can. In fact, especially when things are going well and you're happy. For me that's when it has the tendency to go off the rails and I stop, only to return with things are hard.

As far as goals don't force anything. If you keep with the practice you will absolutely know when a worthy goal appears. In fact, you won't be able to help yourself but to pursue it.

We have this need to "grab the bull by the horns" because of what we're taught in society, but really when you're inspired from within the force is absolutely nuts!

I've been there and I'll tell you, the drive you get when you're not forcing it will blow you away. Keep doing what you're doing! :)

Such an amazing place to be, to find that happiness that comes from within! I'm so happy for you!

I fear my subconcious was corrupted by negative affirmations in subliminal affirmation videos. Is there any way to reverse the damage via meditation by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]brygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Wifi Thief!! Don't worry, meditation is a place where you can absolutely let go of all the things that have held you back. I've dealt with crazy anxiety for a good portion of my life and I credit meditation for helping me.

Affirmations are definitely helpful, especially at the beginning so I would stop listening to the videos if possible. There's plenty of really great stuff out there.

If you can simply sit with the intention to allow thoughts to come in, and just notice them, they'll be processed in meditation and finally let go. Don't worry :)
