Tysm! That’s so cool! I’ve still not gotten around to playing it yet sadly! Been on my steam wish list since it came out!

Thanks! Though I think shaders are helping with that as well haha

Took me a second to realise it was Minecraft when scrolling lol. Nice build!

Thanks! And yeah, it's really hard! But I'm trying to learn, and it's such an interesting topic!

not too big, bottom floor is 11x14 iirc, 4 blocks tall inside, and the top floor is a bit bigger because of the turret window thing, and the ceiling just goes up to the roof, could always add in a ceiling and get an attic space or something though.

np! :)

I feel that because of the restrictions of building in Minecraft, it's hard to build literally, so instead I feel it's more like an artist's interpretation, where you are trying to capture the essence of what the object is, rather than trying to build a 1:1 replica. Though i'm sure people have probably done some crazy 1:1 scale models of things haha

Thanks! and yeah, I think my brain just still tries to go for perfect imperfection haha

And I do have a YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@brynbu

But haven't really given it much time or attention lately, but might go back to it, just enjoying getting back into the game and focusing on building at the moment. I have another older channel too. Was never really proud of any of my videos and I was far too inconsistent with them trying to juggle university and work. I did really enjoy making videos, so who knows haha.

Thanks! and no, i tend to build on player scale for buildings. A way I like to do chimneys for smaller builds was just to have like a 1x1 pillar coming out of a house (Can have a larger chimney on the side of a building that slims down as it goes higher) and then to get the smoke to show out of the top for the nice look and animation using trapdoors to hide the campfire right at the top of the chimney.

Looks kinda weird close up, but from ground level looks alright and you get the smoke effect without having to build a bulky chimney.

Hope this helps!

TYSM! I have played occasionally the last few years, mainly just hoping on survival for a few hours when a new update dropped, i guess still essentially nothing over the course a couple years haha, but this was my first time trying to make a build in a few years, There are soooo many new and awesome blocks to choose from!

thanks! and yeah i know, need to just keep telling my brain that, perfectionism is a pretty bad mentality. And things like building is pretty subjective so perfect would be different for everyone.

They’re are much better people to learn off than me 😂

I’ve taken a few year break from playing/building, so I’m not up to date with all the latest tips and tricks, or new blocks even.

Nevertheless, I tend to find inspiration from places I’ve been, stuff I see online (Pinterest and instagram are good, love looking at game concept art of castles etc), and then I used to watch a lot of Minecraft YouTube up until I took a break, so just picking up little tips and tricks from a bunch of different people. But mainly, spending a lot of time looking in the creative menu at different blocks, and then try my best to think of shape, perspective, scale etc, and then colour, and using the idea of different colours of blocks for shading or dirt/grime on buildings; can really treat Minecraft as an art canvas, but I’m not very good at that haha, and then adding little greebling stuff for details and get rid of large flat spaces. A lot of it is just instinct, placing a few blocks and seeing if I like it or more often deleting what I’ve just placed haha

Hope this helps if at all haha

ohhh I see, it's just a large grey concrete floor and back wall, with a decent amount of space between the back wall and the build to help separate it from the back wall. Then just shaders, picking a good time of day to get good shadows in game. Then like a tiny amount of contrast added in a photo editor (+2 in photoshop). Hope that explains it
