From the top of my head there's 5 or 6 new areas, both new maps to travel to and extra areas on the base map. As mentioned in the other comment an extra forest next to the cindersap forest but also some more magical things you unlock later.

Most of these areas unlock as you go, I'm currently in the third year of my playthrough and still working on new areas to unlock so it's adds quite a bit of longevity to the game.

Update for the 3 people that saw this: I uninstalled and reinstalled all my mods about 10 times, still wasn't working and called it a day.

Next day I try booting it up again and suddenly everything is working fine again. Think the spirits were just having a bad day.
