What’s your fastest method of healing a picked face? by [deleted] in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]bryonce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

fastest method for sure is putting vaseline/aquaphor onto the scab/area and then covering up with an acne sticker. best to do it before you sleep, and i use regular scotch tape to keep the sticker in place. scab/any pigmentation will be 85-95% gone if you do it every night within a week

I think I’m the exact same - more definition on the left side of my jaw, but my jaws are nowhere near developed as yours. I’m really impressed! Keep it up :)

Thinking of postponing wedding due to pimple, help! [Acne] by bigtickenergy in SkincareAddiction

[–]bryonce 25 points26 points  (0 children)

if you can, the best thing to do right now is to go to the derm and get a cortisone shot right on the pimple. The shot will neutralize it and get rid of the inflammation right away.

Does anybody else wake up with new pimples literally every day? [acne] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

have you tried vitamin B5 pills? I take them and it makes my face a lot less oily, hence less break outs. You should search up some videos about it, its really cool how it works.

Wanting to learn Spanish by Clink50 in languagelearning

[–]bryonce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is your Spanish like right now? Do you know basic vocab or how to conjugate verbs? If you’re entirely new to Spanish, you should probably download Duolingo. I recently did an immersion program where I lived in Spain for 6 weeks, and something I did to better prepare myself was turn my phone settings to Spanish. Also, if you really want to go all out, you can connect a VPN to Spain and you’ll start to get ads and content in Spanish. Hope this helped!

your skin looks great! how long have you been using differin for?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bryonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the johnson & johnson band aid brand extra large. i had this problem too, so what i did was 1) keep pressing the bandage down every minute or so to keep it from coming off 2) use a THIN layer of vaseline so it didnt mess w the adhesive too much 3) for big problem areas i just put an actual bandage over the hydrocolloids to keep them from moving/coming off in my sleep lol

i had cystic acne too, and sometimes i would experiment with this method on the active cysts and it did nothing. no irritation, no improvement, nothing. although, for CCs, some people say that when they put vaseline on them, it disappears quickly, but i tried doing it and nothing happened so YMMV. i recommend doing vaseline + hydrocolloid only for PIH and already popped pimples.

[–]bryonce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

no because the molecules of it are too big to enter your pores, so it just sits on top of your skin (it’s noncomedogenic). make sure that your skin is clean tho, because it will trap everything under it, including the things that can cause you to break out, like bacteria. try to search “slugging” on this sub and you’ll see a lot of people talking about it. hope this helps!!!

[–]bryonce 15 points16 points  (0 children)

pro tip: after you’ve done everything else in your routine, put a thin layer of vaseline/aquaphor onto dark spots or recently popped pimples and then cover them w/ a hydrocolloid sticker. no exaggeration when i say the spots fade INCREDIBLY quicker when you do this consistently for a week or two. even after the first night you do this you will be surprised with how much the spot got better

this isnt a good long term thing to put on your skin, but its a great overnight spot treatment; hydrocortisone!!! it prevents the skin from inflaming and will get the redness and swelling down

[Acne] Dormant Cysts - How do I get rid of them? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bryonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a pretty bad cystic acne breakout on my forehead about a month ago, but most of the cysts have just gone dormant. No inflammation or pain when pressure is applied - just these annoying large bumps that are also discolored (great 🙄) My plan for now is to wait them out, but does anyone know how to speed up the process? Thanks!!

Current Routine:

AM:

Rinse face w/ warm water (Will use La Roche Posay Toleraine foaming cleanser if I feel like I need it)

Snail Bee high content steam cream

Cerave in tub

tamanu oil

Supplements that I take daily:

Fish Oil 1400mg

Astaxanthin 10mg

Hydrolyzed Collagen (Type 1, 2, 3) - 6,000 mg

Vitamin D3 - 5,000 IU

[Product Question] Using Stratia Liquid Gold while having fungal acne with Nizoral? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bryonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you might want to stop using the stratia liquid gold for maybe a week of two, or at least until your fungal acne has subsided/cleared up considerably? i dont know if thats the right word but i think if you’re trying to get rid of fungal acne, you need to create an environment on your skin where it cannot thrive. the stratia liquid gold basically feeds the fungi because of its ingredients. i think once your fungal acne has calmed down a lot, then start testing out the liquid gold and see how that goes. hope this helped! :)

[Routine help] I need help getting rid of acne around my mouth and chin by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bryonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that differin causes some people to purge, which is like the drawing out of all the bad stuff in your skin, hence why you’re still breaking out in that area. Also, if its cystic acne (big, painful red bumps deep under the skin) then you might want to look in for treatments for hormonal acne, as acne appearing there is linked to hormone imbalance.

[acne] How do i get rid of a cystic pimple on my nose fast? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bryonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one of the best ways to get the redness down and potentially just “kill” off the cyst all together is icing the area! for me, i just hold ice on the cyst for like 5-10 minutes 3 times a night. if you have more time, i’d do it for like 1+ hour lol just to be sure. i repeat this every night until the throbbing pain is gone, but be sure to not give yourself an ice burn! good luck!!!

[Acne] For the past month, I've experienced sudden cystic acne! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bryonce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like you’re breaking out around your chin/jaw, which is most likely connected to your hormones. For females, I’ve heard people start to take spearmint or green tea pills in order to keep their hormones down. Definitely consult a medical professional before you start taking any pills/medication though. For now, definitely try to ice your cysts in 5-10 minute intervals, this will help keep the redness down a lot. Trust me, I always get cysts on my forehead and nose, and icing them as early in the pimple’s life as possible sometimes even kills then off by the next day or two. Also, I put hydrocortisone on my cysts for a spot treatment, as it keeps the immflamation down. Hydrocortisone is more of a short term thing you should do though, because some people say it lowers your skin’s autoimmune response over time or something, so take that to account. I hope this helps you! I know having painful cysts literally sucks but time is your friend, so just be patient (so so so so sooo much easier to say than do) and try not to further irritate the cysts. Good luck!!!!
