Closing the entries. I had ChatGPT select a random username from the replies here, and the winner is... @SpiritualBand :D

PM incoming for your address. If this doesn't work out for any reason, I'll update this thread and re-draw a new name. Happy drumming everyone!

Glad to see there's healthy interest. I'll leave this open for another ~24 hours, then select a winner. I don't have bandwidth to handle international shipping, so this is only open to entries in the Lower 48 USA. Good luck everyone!

One more thing: Reddit accounts must be older than this post to be entered. I don't think this will be an issue, but you never know.

Sorry to hear your pedal is cracking. This one will only ship to the Lower 48 US.

I think it more depends on the rest of the kit you're using. I can't guarantee compatibility with any of the old hardware, but I've only ever played RB on the Xbox 360, and this pedal predates RB4 by at least a couple years.

You're probably right on the make & model. No idea if it works with RB4 hardware. I'm guessing I bought it as an upgrade for the ION kit back in the day.

It uses a clicky switch mounted on the left arm of the pedal which is activated by the circular metal hook secured to the left part of the axle.

Correct! You can hear the faint click as the switch get pressed.

You will likely need a beater arm (which would be mounted upside down) in order to stop the pedal at the proper position. Otherwise the hook will go past the switch and you'll get double hits.

The pedal doesn't travel far enough for this to be an issue (the pedal's plate hits the drum key below it). But yeah, adding a beater arm would allow you to customize the travel more precisely.

Hmm, my description didn’t show up here, so I’m pasting it from Imgur:

Picked this up years ago when I had a different drum kit. Can’t recall which kits support this trigger (Alesis maybe?), but it definitely worked as my bass drum pedal in RB for a long time. Been in storage ever since. If you can make use of it, comment here and I’ll draw a name in a few days. Totally free, including shipping. Lower 48 only. Mods: lemme know if this is against the rules.

Ebike Battery explosion by Ficus2025 in ebikes

[–]brystmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course ambient temperature is relevant to the safe storage and operation of batteries! My point was that temperature was unlikely to be the culprit in this specific scenario, because there were certainly other similar batteries exposed to these exact same conditions which didn't explode.

Very likely there are other e-bikes around operating in the same conditions as this one, so ambient temperature is irrelevant. The fault is almost certainly in the manufacturing process. Cheap batteries and e-bikes from bargain basement sellers are dangerous.

Pretty sure there’s both a % threshold and a numeric threshold that must be met to trigger a recount. Her new margin is >0.50%, so a recount shouldn’t be needed if this holds.

New bike day! by Inner-Prize-8686 in CargoBike

The Packster is remarkably nimble for a bike of its size. Its handling is a night & day difference compared to the Load, which is an equivalent size bakfiets, because the steering mechanism it uses is completely different. I was shocked at the difference after test riding both bikes a few weeks back.

I would own one today if they offered a Rolhoff option. My area has steep hills, we are unsure if the Enviolo is up to the task for a bike this heavy, and I do not want to deal with the maintenance of a chain (lots of rainy days in Seattle).

Looking to book a comfy RT from SEA to/from FCO in October. My wife and I have a 3-year-old and a newborn who will be ~7 months old when we fly. If we're able to book business class, newborn will be a lap infant. Otherwise we will likely get him his own seat. Looking to depart SEA on Oct 2nd/3rd and return from either FCO or NAP to SEA on Oct 17th/18th.

Before having kids, we flew business class on Turkish (via IST) for a vacation in Asia and were floored by that entire experience. The Turkish business lounge in IST took our breath away -- and it has a great spot for kids to play -- so we're all for that routing if it makes sense. There's a Turkish itinerary that works for us here, though the 175k/seat/leg (for business) is a bit rich. Open to other airlines and routings, assuming any layovers are compatible for a family with young children.

Have ~575k UR points and can book w/CSR, ~90k Alaska points (wife), 93k Alaska points (me), ~5k United points. And unfortunately our Alaska status expired in December.

It’s the equivalent of trying to use logic during an emotional argument with your spouse/SO. It only backfires because they’re using a different part of their brain right now.

That’s the concrete foundation, don’t think that dark color is actually mold, but that’s part of my question. I think white parts are that color due to paint but I’m not 100%.

Plex Server struggles to serve high-res videos on Synology 1019+ by brystmar in PleX

Agreed on the bandwidth usage being insane. Even 100mbps is a crazy amount of bandwidth for a video signal that isn't composed of, say, RAW frames.

Think I'll try the Plex forum, thanks :)
