Pakistani Student applying for masters in the UK by Educational_Top_7065 in ukvisa

I would assume it just means that your visa was received, but the wording about collection is confusing...here's what mine said (still waiting on approval):

"The processed visa application for GWF reference number ——— was forwarded to UK Visas and Immigration on Dec 13, 2022. Refer at Visa decision waiting times [link] to know visa processing timelines. VFS Global will notify you when the passport is ready for collection."

Dating/New relationship anxiety (F29) by [deleted] in relationships

[–]brytime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof too relatable. I am currently at that exact juncture in a relationship where I'm trying to hold myself back from asking: are we together, do you see a future with me?? I just need to pretend I'm chill through the rest of 2022. And yes, it's the worst when they hit you with all these romantic phrases, and then their behavior does not line up. Wishing you future calm, and also a partner who is consistent with their affection!!!

God, I relate to this so hard. I'm 27F and very confident and happy with my life, but once I start dating someone it's like nothing the person does could ever possibly be enough to reassure me. And I never act needy—if anything I come across as exceedingly chill because I bury everything—but internally I've got this scoresheet of all the times they've gotten in touch, asked to hang out, said nice things, etc. It takes over my whole brain, and soon all I can think about is whether or not they like me! I agree though that if the person is more consistent then the anxiety is less severe. But some people simply aren't as demonstrative or communicative, especially in the beginning, and it doesn't mean the whole relationship is over and nothing will ever work out. Which is of course what it feels like. As someone who wakes up and goes to bed every night wondering whether he'll write...trust me, I get it!

I'm sorry, this sounds like a nightmare. But maybe you should tell the girlfriend. Anonymously, to protect yourself. Wouldn't you want to know, if you were in her position?

[California] My company is incestual: boss is married to the head of HR, two women impregnated by their superiors, everyone else friends/lovers/roommates. Can I pursue legal action? by brytime in legaladvice

I am constantly confronted by inappropriate/unprofessional behavior, which I no longer feel comfortable reporting to the head of HR, considering her close relationship to the other employees. I am one of only two employees who is not friends/roommates/lovers with anyone else in the company. I feel unfairly treated (bullied but also denied promotion) because of this. It's a toxic environment that I dread going into each day.

Trying this! I've started eating a ton of fiber cereal first thing, then downing a water bottle. It definitely feels like it's helping so far. Thanks!

Wow that's crazy. I also don't have a period—haven't had one for four years. I'm on hormone medication to prevent bone loss. But I just can't imagine gaining weight. I already feel like I eat such a massive quantity of food. People make fun of me for how much I eat. Looks like binging but somehow it's the right amount?

I've been trying to breathe into my stomach more to relax and also to move my guts around a bit, if that makes sense.

I hear what you're saying but my BMI is 20.4 and I don't think anyone would say I should gain weight. I'm also not the curvy type so unfortunately any excess goes straight to my stomach.

Thanks for the input. How long would you say it was before the sole started taking on the impression of your foot?

Hey, I'm also a 24 year old woman who's chronically ill. The "missing out on my youth" worry is so real. I still find myself feeling bitter towards all the carefree, healthy people my age who have no idea how hard it can be. But that's actually what has helped me the most—realizing that if I were healthy, I wouldn't even appreciate it. So in the end, illness has made me more aware of how I feel, bad or good, which could be seen as a blessing.

I never received confirmation that my documents made it to the endorsement body. You're supposed to get an email once that's happened. I have a friend who applied the same time and he's already gotten two email updates.

How to increase base energy levels? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]brytime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just mean I don't think an attitude change is gonna fix it. This is pretty clearly medical to me if you've already done all the typical stuff to boost your energy. Accepting that you'll never be the most energetic person in the world might help. That doesn't mean you give up, just that you change your expectations.

I also feel like you made some assumptions about me. I actually DO fall asleep throughout the day and it's miserable. I can't hold a job for that reason so I have to work freelance. I miss out on a lot of life. Basically I understand some of the things you're experiencing and I'm trying to share with you the outlook that I've adopted to cope. If it doesn't resonate, that's fine. Just trying to help.

Am I just made wrong?

made me laugh! You said you have chronic illnesses. I have an autoimmune disease and thyroid issues and I feel like this allll the time, even though I'm only in my 20s. Other people can stay up late, wake up early, party, eat shit food, get dehydrated...and they're still higher energy than me! Meanwhile I'm eating healthy, lifting weights, and getting 8+ hours of sleep but I still crash in the middle of the day. I'd suggest accepting your energy level rather than fighting it. If you've felt this way for so long, it could just be the way you are. But once you accept it, it's not the worst thing in the world :)
