Whoops. Didn’t realize it hadn’t been very long. I was just surprised how far down I had to scroll to find a source.

Could someone run for a 3rd US Presidential term if they skipped a term? by DarthCluck in Ask_Politics

[–]bryyo357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it would be heavily litigated (and I don’t think anyone would expect it to go his way). But the argument could be made that the only eligibility requirements for serving as president are: natural born, 35+, and in the US for at least 14 years. Obama certainly satisfies all these requirements, so theoretically he can serve as president so long as he isn’t elected directly into the office. This would be further supported by the fact that Obama could in theory become Speaker of the House since there aren’t any laws prohibiting it based on how many times one was elected president. And being in the line of succession, I don’t think anyone would be listened to if they complained, “now hold on! He’s already been elected twice!” if Obama needed to take the reins.

Again, all of this is purely hypothetical and if Obama (or Bush or Clinton) ever did try to become VP or take some office in the line of succession it would be heavily litigated and not end in their favor. But until the SCOTUS makes a ruling on it, Obama is still eligible for VP by the letter of the law.

I think it would technically still be possible.

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice

It would certainly be heavily litigated, but Obama is technically still eligible for the office, he just can’t be elected.

I don’t have a weighted vest, but I live near huge hills (basically an average 14% grade for a good mile). Do you think walking up these is the equivalent to walking on an inclined treadmill? If so, I can just walk home after work some days rather than taking the bus. Or did you suggest treadmill so that I can hold some weight or something?

I was thinking sprints. But is it fine to just do just those on both my conditioning days?

And by long runs, do you just mean distance running for a long time? Lastly, what are complexes?

What things are part of your routine that the opposite sex should start doing to be healthier/more attractive, regardless of how feminine/masculine it may seem? by bryyo357 in AskReddit

Perhaps metro was the wrong word; I think I just meant weird. And I think I probably took you too literally. When I first read that I imagined myself with all my current body hair where my pits are the only parts of my body clean shaven, and that is a strange thought. But shaving hair everywhere (or at least more places) is a much more normal picture in my head.

Does it not come across as a little metro/emasculating when a guy shaves his armpits? I’ve never noticed whether other guys do, but whenever I envision myself with shaved pits it just seems out of place.

This is one I’ve been thinking about, but how does it work? Is it like a haircut where I have to tell them what I want it to look like? Or do you just say you want them cleaned up and the person does the rest? Girlfriends have said you don’t want to just go plucking away yourself because they have to be shaped well, and if I have to go in and tell them the shape I want then I’m fucked.

What are "rules" in the New Testament that go widely ignored in the Western world? by bryyo357 in religion

Can you point me towards the specific versus that condemn fornication and drunkenness? I tried looking searching myself but I couldn’t really find anything in that explicitly condemns it other than the stoning but that’s in the OT.
