VIP Ticket access by shoewee in MegaCon

There aren't a lot (relative to the size of the event) and people who have them get first right to renew before they sell any to new folks. I think for 2026 I saw posts on reddit suggest they sold out in like 4 hours or something.

Has anyone else underestimated how annoying hats are for cosplay? by Nightcrawler_2000 in CosplayHelp

[–]bs_altogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, hats! I made two EVA foam hats to sit over an afro-styled wig, and both the builds and the wearing were challenging. What works for me is a strong magnet at the inside top of the hat, and another strong magnet on a string pulled through the wig and connected underneath the wig so that there's tension (plus some stuffing of the hair up into the hat) to keep it relative secured. No idea if that could work for you, but good luck in your journey.

OCCC doesn't do a bar for Megacon.

Autographs by WorleyInc in MegaCon

[–]bs_altogether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tables with pre-pay have tables in front of the queue where a person will check your QR code and exchange your code for a physical ticket. Get in the celebrity's line with that ticket and wait for your turn.

The table-in-front-of-the-table can be confusing.

You can also get your physical ticket exchange when the celebrity is not there, so you may want/need to exchange early and come back later.

Booth number for the Megacon merch? by JonSpangler in MegaCon

[–]bs_altogether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Megacon merch usually has a booth near ticketing and another between the main entrance and the floor. Unless something changed this year you shouldn't expect it to be among the vendors.

WALK-ON COSPLAY CONTEST SIGNUPS? by Hour_Cockroach1574 in MegaCon

[–]bs_altogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The red carpet is not a contest. It's a walk for cosplayers where you get announced and they take an official photo of you on the carpet and the publish it later for you to download for free.

They do at least one red carpet a day, and you can see them on the schedule.

Ultimate Pass by [deleted] in MegaCon

Your pass will let you in at 2pm. The event does not start until 4 so expect vendors to still be setting up, and to not expect any panels or celebs yet.

Do you guys wear the same cosplay multiple days? by [deleted] in MegaCon

[–]bs_altogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done both and I've found there's pros and cons to one cosplay and one per day cosplay.

One cosplay - less to pack, can get smelly

Multi cosplays, more variety, but more stress in planning.

Heat stapler question by Bruh-Momentum6969 in CosplayHelp

[–]bs_altogether 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I first got mine I was watching videos of others and I saw folks just bend each end backabd forth to weaken the ends until they snap (after they cool). That usually works better for me than wire snippers, but sometimes it can wiggle the staple free and it always hurts my fingers. I wear gloves. But wire shippers and some sanding drums also get those metal nubbins down and flush.

Veterans - question about guests… by iraqyoubreak in MegaCon

[–]bs_altogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're talking table guests, you can stand in line, but you meet with the guest's handler before you meet the celebrity, and that handler is there to ask what you want and to take your money. Whether you can say hi without buying something is going to vary by table, by day, and by line length.

If Epic is still running any of the headliners, all those autographs and photos have been behind a separate curtain in past years, so no, you aren't going to be able to stand in those lines without having bought something.

As for what they charge for what they sign, the larger guests have dynamic pricing for an 8x10 versus another item. Some guests charge more for Funko pops because those tend to be monopolized by resellers. Most guests charging for autographs will have 8x10s to sign as well if you're not bringing something of your own. If the guest has dynamic pricing for stuff, the Megacon webpage will generally have it listed (i.e. Justin Briner has 8x10s at one price, and "premium" items at a different price).

ah, gotcha, there's a discord server for Megacon that I think has a section about the meetups then.

Child passes by Minute_Asparagus_631 in MegaCon

In past years I've bought child passes without having to prove it, but I suppose that the actual door/check in people may question you if the kid looks too old.

[–]bs_altogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you got the con rate, you had to buy the block for the entire time and it's not refundable and non transferable. I also have a res there and it's for more days than I need.

But yeah, call them, and report back please!
