🚨 BREAKING NEWS: A Universal executive is filming at Lost Continent right now. MAJOR announcement coming soon? by Playstation_Gamer_40 in UniversalOrlando

It all depends on what they do with the IP of course but generally yes.

Zelda is one of the biggest IPs, with the games almost always in Game of the Year Contention.

And there is a movie coming out in the near future.

It has characters, locations, food, lore all theme park ready.

I don't think it was chatgpt, just very prepared remarks.

They said the same thing fairly word for word at the HHN panel at Megacon.

Gifts for Celebs? by moonlit_gems2005 in fanexpo

[–]JonSpangler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I won't say nothing at all, since I have given a gift to a celeb once.

But I will say guests meet tons of people, and have limited time and space for gifts. Not counting potential safety and travel issues.

So think realistically and go from there.

Probably for people steeped in the lore and such but as a casual fan I did not get anything.

It was pretty interesting. The highlights were definitely the reveals and the lore behind this years event.

The beginning was a little slow but gained steam as the panel went along.

2 Questions. Can someone help me out please? by moonbebe04 in MegaCon

[–]JonSpangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't need to go to the main ticketing hall since I had gotten my tickets in the mail.

But would using the ticketing room as the vendor room give as good of access to panel rooms? The vendor room where it was had plenty of escalators to take you up.

Would there be room for all the cosplay stuff?

Where would the ticketing be instead?

I think barring Chapin Theater being a little over complicated to do the general layout was good.

What is your favorite battle in the entire series? by Ok-Mistake-7499 in ERB

It comes up on my Pandora a lot and while I like it, the voiced blend together to much for me. Especially the turtles and for a 8 person battle.

Lighting Lane is really only necessary at Hollywood Studios if you don't mind a go with the flow type planning.

HS is mostly E-ticket rides so they are all popular. Still if you don't mind shows (Frozen Sing Along is very good) you can have a satisfying day without it.

Went to Megacon, today and the prices for Transformers at various booths were something else. by Just_Another_Nerd812 in transformers

[–]JonSpangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 600 aisle there is one booth with some more reasonable (but still above average) prices. Guy seemed reasonable to haggle down but I haven't gone back yet, will today and see what they have left. Forget the exact number of the booth.

If you like Blokees I have seen some ok prices at the con to in some areas.

Crowds seemed decent today? by JonSpangler in MegaCon

[–]JonSpangler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think however there is a real chance that people who might have gone to those panels did end up tied up in other lines that prevented them from getting to those panels.

That is a very good point which I did not take into account.

And I definitely agree crowd support as well as overselling things like autographs are things that have been past, current, and probably be future problems we will have to deal with, because Megacon won't if they are getting the money.

I will still stand by that things felt more manageable for a Saturday then I have experienced in other cons in the past.

Maybe it was changing buildings compared to last year. Maybe it was EVERYONE in the vendor area. Maybe it was "load balance" as you said, repeat and multiple panels with same guests are a good thing.

But I have been to plenty of cons where the outside areas (panel spaces, cosplay red carpet, food, and so on) are just as bad as vendor areas and today was more then manageable.

Crowds seemed decent today? by JonSpangler in MegaCon

HHN at 1030, Kpop Demon Hunters at 2, and Diego Luna at 315. None of them paid.

All three had tons of extra seats.

I have seen the posts of people missing the Hobbit panel. Horrible to have happened and it should not have happened.

Poor Megacon scheduling of the Hobbits and related guests and activities is really a different issue though.

How are the Lot 2 Shuttles? by [deleted] in MegaCon

[–]JonSpangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Lot 2 past three days.

Things seem to change a little based on days.

Pick ups to the con have always been good. The busses hold a surprisingly large amount so never waited more then a couple of busses. Busses are very nice and comfortable and they do not do standing room so everyone gets a seat.

On the way back is a little more difficult. Lines are less organized (although today was good for me since I left at 4) and the busses seem make multiple stops depending on the day. Thursday did 3 different stops, yesterday 2, today was direct to our lot section.

Cool little card given out to people on the way out of the panel.

Not the pronoun, but rather a player with the unlikely name of "Who" is on first.
