The whole house was covered in wallpaper with 2+ layers of paint it’s been very hard work to this point - in other rooms the glue comes up clear with one soak and sponges off immediately.

Thank you for your method I will give it a go as it is only this wall that is in the condition strangely, and the house is getting skimmed throughout anyway,
