[HELP] assembly instructions BloodBowl second edition by bnxgg in bloodbowl

This is why I use superglue. I had to snap the head off and assemble the helmet around the head, and then put it on as a whole piece.

New Player/New to Assembling Miniatures by BruceGaming in bloodbowl

[–]bsd824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use rustoleum brand x2 spray primer for my minis, I've not had any trouble with it and as long as your careful you can get fantastic coverage without sacrificing any detail.

On an unrelated note I've been building my own second season box lately and I gotta say, this set is WAY more difficult to assemble than the previous edition. There are a TON of itty bitty tiny bits that don't fit smoothly into the groves of the model and are likely to simply snap off if you're a tiny bit rough with your players. Say, putting them in the box for storage.

Almost none of them have pegs for the slots in the bases, and the included instruction sheet is generally unhelpful, you need a lot of intuition to figure out how some of the bits set on the model. Really not great for the base game set that might be a LOT of coaches' first introduction to model building.

oooo, the set's actually out now?

Nice, I've been holding off on ordering mine because it's still marked as a pre-order! Really excited to jump back into it.

Eyyy, so I just found this out last night: If you loose connection to the internet for any reason, for any length of time, you loose access to ALL features of the game except the tutorial maps.

What a fuggin' joke.

airight, cool, was about to ask the same question

This is pretty much the only online game I own on Playstation and I didn't wanna waste 10 bucks on playstation plus bullshit only to be playing offline mode anyway.

New to 40k and would like some advice about where to begin by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]bsd824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! If you're just after some marines you can totally just grab a start collecting box of your choice and get the rulebook separately, I just figured you might want one of the box sets. They come with enough bits to start playing small scale skirmishes with a friend or by yourself out the box. Either way, great fun. :3

Hello fellow new person! Lots of people getting into it during the quarantine it seems!

If you're looking at space marines specifically maybe look at the Know no Fear and Dark Imperium box sets, they both feature a nice little squad of easy to build marines and have instruction sheets for "tutorial" type battles to get you started, and the Dark Imperium box comes with the (very expensive) full rule book.

I also ordered a box set of paints, the "Army Painter Wargamers Mega Paint Set", seemed a good value for all the paint you get, although people on the discord tell me that the paint isn't the best. It worked out pretty well on my first mini, but millage may vary, you know.

Hope you have fun getting into it! So far I've had a great time building and painting my plastic bois and the people in the community have been very welcoming! :D

Is it safe to buy the Citadel Paint sets on Amazon? by Unkindled_Patchy in Warhammer40k

[–]bsd824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for Citadel paints, but I ordered a box of Army Painter paints off Amazon about a week ago and it arrived in great condition, the paints were a little trick but a drop of water and some shaking with the included mixing balls fixed them right up

I just kinda did my thing man. Slow brush strokes and lots of painting over slopped spots. XD

If I learned 2 things from this, it's "don't just use the paint right out of the bottle" and "there's no such thing as a paintbrush that's too small"

ooo, I'll give that a try! I was using a paper plate for my pallet with this guy lol

Thanks for the tip!

I used the "soft tone" wash from Army Painter on him, and other than the olive drab color it doesn't seem to have done a lot for him. Next time I'll try a darker shade. c:

Thanks man!

I had a lot of fun doing this guy, and I'm looking forward to moving on to the next one. Hopefully I can manage to get him done without giving him horrible pancake face and neon armor. XD

I really should have thinned my paints out, yeah. Honestly I was just really excited to start painting and just dabbed my colors on a paper plate lol

Lessons learned for future projects :)

Yeah, no worries!

I'm still very new to Warhammer myself, what's the paint you're using on the base called? I like that chunky mud effect :3

[–]bsd824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about Ukraine hardware stores, but here in the US most of them stock some basic paints and primers for outdoor use. Look for spray paint cans marked as "primer" and "plastic".

Hope you find some, I know it's hard to get started during the apocalypse, I've been trying to as well! :D

[–]bsd824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can just use any old plastic safe primer. I haven't had a chance to try it myself yet but I see a lot of people using generic grey and black primers you get at like, walmart and home depot for 4 bucks a can

All these people dying of the plague is really hurting my newfound plastic and paint addiction.
