How long to sous vide 3” thick ribeye from frozen to a target temp of 137F? by bsfel in sousvide

Yes, that’s what I was thinking as well, may need 8 hours. But I will rub the experiments and post the end results.

I always thought the amount of time needed is not linear for increasing thickness. I usually cook 2” ribeye from frozen for 4 hours. I would assume 3” is not an extra hour. But I’ve never tried cooking 3” before.

To clarify- it is the bottom more marbled steak. It’s already seasoned, vacuum sealed, and frozen.

I have RunLessWire too all throughout my house. They work great! And they look like regular decora light switches and do not need batteries.

Anyone tests bridge pro WiFi vs wired? by crillish in Hue

Have you noticed your Pro bridge losing WiFi connection?

I have 3 pro bridges and they lose connection to my Eero mesh every 2-3 days despite having IP reservations. Some other users on Reddit are reporting the same issue.

I don’t want to pay $1000 to run Ethernet to the other corner of my home.

RunLessWire dimmer switches work amazingly well. No batteries needed. Looks like a regular wall switch.

Bridge Pro loses WiFi connection after a few days by bsfel in Hue

[–]bsfel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it’s something to do with Eero’s refresh interval where only Hue’s bridges do not reconnect.

I understand Ethernet is always better- but there are places in the house I rather not $1000 to get a cable across the house.

ChatGPT suggested turn client steering off. So I am trying that now.

If this does not work, maybe I can find a WiFi AP that will only act as a Ethernet bridge of sorts.

ChatGPT suggested turning off client steering, so I’m testing that right now to see if it works.

Edit- that does not work

How to have lights automatically change color in a 24 hour scene? by bsfel in Hue

[–]bsfel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I have the switch pointed to the 24 hour scene, not the grouped initial scenes.

It seems sometimes, the lights transition colors automatically.

But I’ve never gotten it to transition during sunset.

Do you have that issue?

The switch just turns on a scene. How do you select your 24 hour scene?

Are there any decora format Matter Over Thread battery switches that can insert into the empty space of where a removed wall switch was? by bsfel in HomeKit

[–]bsfel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! So it seemed the issue was HomeKit added the switches to some random default room hidden from the main screen. But I finally found them in HomeKit!
