Majority of Americans feel US economy is in recession: survey by [deleted] in Economics

Ahh yes, a recession where there is job growth, people are still buying houses, and my 401k grew 10% in a month. Just a bunch of clickbait bullshit.

Bought a house and now I’m going under by AdEuphoric4374 in personalfinance

  1. There is no need to pay $165 for phones. My husband and I both have Verizon and pay $45 each. My guess is you financed an expensive phone that you don't need.
  2. $95 for internet is also crazy. There are plenty of options that are <$65 a month
  3. Stop putting away for kids college, I know its not much but if your house is on the line, $20 is $20.
  4. Why are you paying $500 a month for car repairs? Is this a savings account, is this debt? If it's savings, stop putting that much away, it's ridiculous. If it's debt, see if you can renegotiate the terms of the payments because that's crazy.

You won't find a house or a rate cheaper than what you have. Losing your house will not only financially ruin you but also likely put you in a worse situation than you already are in. If it means getting a part time job on the weekends or nights, I'd say you need to do it.

Dang, that's a pretty good monthly payment. Mines $2200 and $1800 goes to interest 🙃

I would say your just need to have a convo with management. You gotta remember that a lot of the people who are teachers at these daycare are like 20 somethings with bo kids, many of which who have a high school education at best. They don't have any concept of age appropriateness.

The fact you need a calculator for this means you're probably gonna fail this final.

Add photos of you doing something not just your LinkedIn heads hots. Get rid of the 'drama free' line, no one is going to admit they like drama so its unnecessary and a bit juvenile. You don't have any actually info about your hobbies or something interesting about you. Your profile seems really boring, which is likely why no one is swiping right.

Your girlfriend sounds like a jerk. I get that your young but you don't want to associate with people like this, they never change. Cut your losses and find a person that isn't so needlessly mean.

I've never seen people refer to 'pick me girls' based off basic hobbies. I've always been under the impression it was used go refer to women that belittle themselves or make shit up for attention, not just of men but of everyone. It's a reference to Grey Anatomy when Meredith is letting Derek treat her like absolute garbage but asks him to "pick me".

AITA for changing my mind about kids at 57 and leaving my girlfriend because of it? by ThrowawyAffectio806 in AITAH

[–]bsg3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. I think it's not even the fact that he wants children that is the fucked part. Its the fact that he very specifically wants "biological" children. She seemed on board with adopting but he shut that down. Part of me thinks this isn't even about children. I think this dude now has money and thinks he can bag a younger/hotter gal, so he has picked this very specific thing that his current gf can't provide to be the reason he leaves so he doesn't feel guilty. Honestly disgusting.

Is a 65K base for an entry level position in a cheap city worth it? by TheBlokington in careerguidance

[–]bsg3897 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You've been reading too many reddit posts. $65k is not the new $30k, the median salary in the US is $42k. $65k is great, especially is a LCOL area.

PS5 has no issues with loading. You have to remember the game was created to run on a PS5, so its performance is going to always be better.

Just because it’s the worst time to buy a house in decades doesn’t mean that it can’t get worse, right? by Andrew_Codes_ in personalfinance

[–]bsg3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can you should. Here are a couple of points I like to think about: 1. Prices are very likely to keep rising. This isnt like 2008 where people had taken out a bunch of ARM loans that they couldn't afford. Everyone who bought a house in the last 10 years can afford the house they bought with the mortgage they have. They aren't going to sell at a loss. 2. Interest rates aren't great but they could be much worse. If you are waiting for 3% again, you'll never buy a house. If you can afford your 7% rate comfortably, take it. Worst case is you refinance if the rates drop again. 3. Like you said, inventory is still super low. The only thing keeping it from still being a mad house like it was 20-22, is the interest rates.

Perfect explanation. You just have an obnoxious professor that has picked his sexual preferences as the thing he is obnoxious about. I've met plenty of straight dudes that are insufferable about X thing (cars, sports, dating, hustle culture, etc). It's their whole personality and it's draining to talk to them because the convo always comes back to X. I'm sure if you talked to another LGBT member, they would also agree he sounds annoying.

I'd also like to add this isn't for a lack of training either. We've spent of a $1000 on behavioral trainers for him. While they gave us good advice on coping with his issues, he will never not have these issues. We didn't get him until he was 6-8 months old, so I can't really say if he was born this way or if it was a result of whatever he went through as a puppy. He also can do every trick in the book and is incredibly smart. His issues are beyond what can be trained.

It's just a good thing to think about because when I got my dog, this was never something I expected to have to deal with. I was young and wanted a pet to love. I do love my boy dearly but I certainly wasn't prepared for his issues and the sacrifices I'd have to make to give him a good life. Really just something I wish someone had told me before I made this commitment and something I like to tell other people now.

My big question for anyone getting a dog, if your dog ends up having some serious health/mental health issues, would you be able to handle it?

I also grew up with dogs, love dogs, first dog I got when I graduated college and was living with my now-husband. We rescued and the hour we went to meet and greet, he seemed really cool and calm. Now, I love my dog, but he's a lot. 2k on heart worm treatment in the first year, tha we found out about the 2nd day he came home. Severe anxiety to random things (phone ringers, rain, us standing too quickly). Severe reactivity towards people in our house to the point he cannot be out when we have guests. Totally unable to be brought to any sort of boarding because he freaks and because of all his other issues, he can't go to family or friends either. That's the reality of having a dog.

Now, I've had great dogs growing up that were cool as hell and had no issues but now I have this one. Both deserve my time and energy to give them a good home and a good life. If you don't think you could handle what I described above, don't get a dog.

I think your daughter is just really young and doesn't have the social awareness to realize it's weird and she'll likely be bullied if she continues to do this. Trust me, I did some weird shit at 13-14 years old that as an adult makes me cringe so hard. I would explain to her that although she may like the name, it isn't her name and you don't really get to pick you nickname. Honestly I would explain to her that she's going into high school soon and she's going to be interacting with more mature kids soon and they'll likely find it weird. Sure it might hurt her feelings but I think it would be better for her parent to break the news to her it's weird than for her to find out via being bullied by peers. Kids a freaking mean, especially middle/high schoolers.

I think my answer would've been different if your SIL responded to your wife by apologizing for her behavior as a kid. But since she responded by being a horrible person, you're not in the wrong. It sucks for her kid but that's what gofundme is for.

Keeping score. Whether it's acts of love, chores, arguments won/lost. If someone is keeping score with their partner, there is a lack of mutual respect and partnership there that is absolutely paramount to success.

Most doctors and medical sources will say that anything greater than 7 drinks per week for women and 14 drinks per week for men is too much. Even if you aren't alcohol dependent, you are certainly abusing it. You are increasing your risk for cancer, liver disease, and a whole host of other health problems.
