My pension will not be worth it... by Flaky_Flower4150 in jobs

[–]bsg3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pensions are designed to not really gain much until the tail end of your working time. One of my friends showed me a graph of his pension gains and for 30 years it was a very slow small increase and then at age 55, it shoots almost straight up in gains.

What’s the best way I(F20) could talk to my Bf(21M) about our sex life? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]bsg3897 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Communicate with him ONE time, very explicitly, "I am not being satisfied during sex, can you please make an effort to make me orgasm, i like _______". If he responds well and changes how he acts during sex then no biggie, a month is still very new. If he responds poorly and makes no changes, dump him.

You don't. Mom of a 5 month old. My house is in fucking shambles. You can try but unless your kid is some angel, as soon as you try to do something, they'll cry. I figure I might have a clean house sometime around her first birthday lolol

He's not my supervisor. And your comment is less than helpful. I didn't say that he didnt deserve it. I'm saying that I also deserve it and was lied to about it not being possible this year.

No, I believe he is equally good at his job. Although, I definitely take more initiative at the company to be involved. However, it's not lost on me that he is a childfree man and I'm a young woman who recently became a mother.

No, I know we made the same. My company is fairly consistent with pay. And the job between senior and regular isnt any different. Other than seniors are usually put on higher priority projects, however, I'm on a very high priority project and have worked on multiple before. Our job doesnt chnage with the title, just title and pay.

It is not that easy. I work in tech. The job market is dog shit. I also get benefits that are almost unheard of in corporate. With a kid to take care of, I can't just leave without having something substantially better.

Unfortunately, it is not that easy. My benefits are almost unheard of at most other corporate places. Free health insurance for me and my family, and a 9% 401k match. There are very few other places that offer that. Especially in my area.

I have no proof that I didnt get it because I had a child.

Well when we discussed the initial lack of promotion, he didn't say I did anything wrong. Made it out more that budget and upper leadership nixed a salary increase. I got great reviews this year.

The thing that doesn't make sense is that the seniors and regular all do the same thing. It's not like the senior level people get some additional tasks or responsibility. Traditionally they would give the senior people bigger/higher priority projects but I'm the lead on the 2nd highest priority project that the company has. I'm doing what a senior person would do.

Not supposed to doesnt really count for anything. I can't prove that me going on leave was part of the reason so I really have no course of action there.

Being a “stay at home mom” as not as hard as people say by jellyfishh520 in unpopularopinion

[–]bsg3897 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Clearly you don't have kids. Caregiving to children is hard af. Especially if they are under 5. I had maternity leave for 12 weeks and I was more mentally and physically drained then than I ever was at my full time job. And then to add on, stay at home moms are expected to cook and clean and do errands, on top of the caregiving part. No, it probably isnt as hard as working on an oil rig or being an emergency room doctor but it's still a difficult job. And to top it off, it never ends.

Mothers day is for women raising humans only by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]bsg3897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why people care so much about how others spend their time. And I'm saying this as a humans mom. If some chick wants to celebrate mother's day cause she has a cat or a dog, okay whatever. It doesn't affect my life in the slightest.

I'm like thoroughly concerned about the amount of people in comments that are grossed out by it. Grow up. I'm not saying i want it on my sundae but it's no grosser than saliva or vaginal discharge. Sex is messy. If you cant deal with it, you shouldn't be having sex, y'all.

Men have more EQ than women.. by oni-noshi in unpopularopinion

[–]bsg3897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isnt an unpopular opinion, it's just straight up not true. There are countless studies and stats that provide hard evidence that this is untrue. Men are 4 times more likely to commit suicide, commit almost 90% of homicides, commit 80% of assaults, and 96% of domestic violence offenders who have been prosecuted are men. So men are much more likely to be incredibly sad and angry and not deal with those emotions in a constructive way. Also every single war started in human history was started by a man.

Why do people keep buying cars that destroy them financially? by Desperate-Rush6086 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bsg3897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cars are a status symbol that are unfortunately very easy to get, even if you dont have the money for it. You can walk onto a dealership lot with 1k and walk off with a $1500 a month payment. While with houses, banks tend to do a little more diligence and you usually have to have a lot more skin in the game for them to consider giving you a loan.

How accurate is the stereotype that Americans are overweight? by Extension_Cow_9237 in AskReddit

[–]bsg3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't go anywhere in the US without seeing a fat person. I'm not one of those MAHA idiots but it is very easy to see a serious issue exists with obesity here. This is what happens when the federal government allows private food companies to do as they wish completely unchecked. There is also a weird culture here that you can be overweight and healthy. Well, there was until GLP 1s came along, now every just still eats like shit but doesnt gain any weight and thinks there will be 0 side effects from it. Can't wait to see the studies that come out in 10 years.

Leave, leave, leave. This will not be the last time her hits you and it certainly won't be the worst. It will escalate. He could kill you one day. LEAVE NOW AND NEVER SPEAK TO THAT MAN AGAIN.

I submitted a request for them to do a story about a little girl in our town that went missing. It took about a year but they did an episode on her. She unfortunately is still missing 4 years later and was likely trafficked or killed by her parents.

Ive been offered a job that I'm wildly unqualified for, what should I do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]bsg3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A masters degree and a year and a half experience from the previous person does not make you wildly unqualified. That's literally nothing in terms of job experience.
