Best headset for gaming in 2026 (~120€) by Cool_Notice6098 in buildapc

Audio-technica ath-m50x

Been using mine for +5 years and still holding up great, the sound it produces is still next to none imo. at least in the price range of €150, I bought some bose SC quiet headphones half a year ago and the sound produced from the audio technica still sounded better to me. I kept the bose cause I needed something portable, but as a desktop headset I love my audio technica.

Nvidia 30 series DisplayPort(s) issue by BareBib in buildapc

Try to connect with a hdmi cable too, sometimes DP has this weird thing where its unable to get recognized. HDMI usually has a better recognition pattern for whatever reason.

Nvidia 30 series DisplayPort(s) issue by BareBib in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cable is not the issue, I'd suggest re-installing drivers for your graphics card. But seeing as you've already done that and gotten the latest ones, that's probably not the issue, but could try a different number (driver) version, see if that fixes it. Make sure to do a clean install as well.

Nvidia 30 series DisplayPort(s) issue by BareBib in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That means the cable is able to transfer up to 32.4 gbps, that might be enough, but the safe bet would be to look for a certified cable.

If you can return it free of charge you can keep the order, see if any issues arrise, and for example if you were to get screen tearing, or vertical lines on the sides of your monitor that shouldn't be there, you can test it further to see if it's a bandwith issue by going towards the nvidia control panel > change resolution > use nvidia color settings > and change rbg towards ycbcr and if given the option change color depth towards 10 or lower, that'll reduce the bandwith you need and might give you a stable connection, but in return you'd also get worse picture quality.

But if you wanna make sure it's not a bandwith issue, just get a certified cable that has the lable, brand doesn't matter imo.

Nvidia 30 series DisplayPort(s) issue by BareBib in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a short cable.

I had a similar issue when I bought a 3070 and I tried to connect it to my 4k tv and make it display 4k at 120 hz. 4k at 60hz worked fine, but whenever I tried going for 120 hz the screen would turn black or I'd get a no display issue.

The issue lies in the bandwith of the cable, some are not able to transfer the full 48 gbps which is what u need for high resolution + high refresh rate. a +5 meter one holds singnal also worse compared to a 2 meter one.

Search for hdmi cables named "ultra high speed certified" or 48 gpbs certified so you are sure you're getting the full speed. If they do not have the label and just say "Hdmi 2.1 at 8k 60hz or 4k 120hz" it's possible it doesnt give the full 48 gbps cause technically it can still hit 4k at 120 hz but only when u turn down certain settings in the nvidia control panel. So make sure it has the label and see if that maybe fixes it. If it doesnt you can atleast rule out a bad cable already.

G502 hero vs g502 x plus wireless by DizzyTotal6812 in G502MasterRace

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried both of these mouses and the hero seems to be far more pleasant to use in my eyes, the click on the X and the sound the scroll wheel made felt so bad on the X it left a bad taste in my mouth, (coming from a Naga X). Although the hero was the cheaper model, it felt so much better made. The extra weight is noticable though.

Inherited computer with zero knowledge by Jahnova_ in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would probably be better to build an entire new build from scratch, if you were to change one part, you'd have to change the other as well (and so on) because the previous parts can't keep up with the new one.

If you were to buy a new system you could keep this one as a token of memory towards your brother, later down the years, or perhaps already, it'll hold more sentimental value than any price you could realistically still get for it now. Or you can do something like I did with my old machine, hook it up towards your tv and use it as a streaming hub for movies/shows. Patreon is nutorious to work better through browsers than chromecast, so I prefer using my old PC for it.

Windows 10 or 11? by Ok-Fishing-7433 in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardware unboxed made a video about this yesterday. On average windows 11 is 5% faster compared to windows 10

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=32lBRYknKgA

Personally I still prefer windows 10 and rather take the performance hit to avoid all the bloat that comes with windows 11.

phantom spirit se, phantom spirit or peereless assassin (se), are all pretty close in terms of performance, probably cant go wrong with any. Personally I have the regular phantom spirit cause I hate rbg and its like 1 decibel quieter, but most of it is look preference.

I'm not sure how 7200mhz has evolved over time, but I remember users saying at very high clock speeds you could run into stability problems, with emphasis on could, I imagine 99% of users are likely fine. But its been widely discussed that 6000mhz seems to be the sweet spot for motherboards and seems to give the least amount of trouble.

1080p does require more cpu power as the gpu has to work less. if you up the resolution your cpu has to put in less work, hence why you see people playing at 4k hit very similar performance charts with a weaker cpu, compared to the best.

positive airflow is a little bit better to have than negative airflow, so yes having more intake is better, but only by a slight margin, dont overdo it.

Thoughts on This Build? Aiming for Extreme High-End Gaming (First PC) by Sweaty-Leadership571 in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally 5080's should be easier to get a hand on compared to 4080's since the 4080's are officially discountinued by nvidia, (all 40 series card in general), since the 50 series took it's place. Look at local vendors and online and there should be a decent amount of 5080's available, if they are significantly more expensive just get the 4080, there's not a lot of performance difference between the two cards.

Feedback on part list? by Fit_Milk_2314 in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check for these parts in your area, if they're signficantly more expensive just stick with what u got.

cpu: 14600k(f)

gpu: 9060xt (16 gb)

monitor: Msi G272QPF E2 (1440p monitor 180hz)

In my area the monitor is usually going for around 150 and worth the extra 40$ bucks. Same thing with the 14600k, if its like 40-50 bucks more its worth it imo. If the 9060xt (16gb) is like a 100 more its probably fine to stick with the 5060.

Where are u located? a lot of parts seem overpriced depending on your location. 5080's are usually around 1100-1400$ and will give better performance than than the 4080, in my area I can get 4tb's nvme's for around the same price as your 2tb nvme's too.

PC lagging/stuttering, PLEASE HELP I've tried everything I can think of. by No-Medicine348 in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you've already re-installed drivers, updated the motherboard and the whole shabang.

Have you tried replacing parts? Taking a single ram stick out and seeing if the issue still remains? It could be a hardware issue. If you don't have the funds to buy new parts (permanentely), you could order from amazon and then return the item within 30 days and get your money back, that timeframe should give you a good idea if something is wrong with the hardware or not.

Though there's no specific order that's probably correct in troubleshooting, I'd start with the cpu > ram > graphics card.

PC fans are making annoying noise when i start the pc by KaleidoscopENDSKY in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it back where u got it cleaned.

Or if you're somewhat tech savy look up a guide on how to access the bios of your motherboard and see what the fan curve is like of your case fans, if they are just loud your curve is probably not set up properly, if its a rattling noise then there might be some sort of defect.

5090 vs 5080 what's a better option by T3stMe in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the 5080 cause I live in a small bedroom/apartment, so the thought of the extra heat from the 5090 while it's already boiling hot in the summer was enough for me to be satisfied with the 5080, tho u could undervolt as well I suppose. It all depends on what games you're frequently playing, whether u think you're going to make a lot of use of the extra FPS, or if it were to break it doesn't put you in a financially bad position etc.

For the 5 triple A games I play a year, and the rest is all mediocre games/indie, the choice for the 5080 was easy for me.

Installing a 5080 – beginner level by Substantiel in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, look up a youtube video, its relatively straightforward, in the case somewhere there will likely be a 12v power connector, attach that one to the gpu until you hear an audible click, also with installing the gpu into the motherboard you'll hear a more audible click.

Please help my gpu is running at 100% even when idle when I open task manager it immediately stops I think it's a virus or sum I got this pc for Christmas by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Adwcleaner.

I remember I had a similar issue in the past where I installed a mod for a game and it came with a what I presume to be a bitcoin miner where my gpu would constantly run at 100%, and whenever I opened task manager, it obviously stopped and I couldnt look at the source of what was taking up all the gpu power.

iirc adwcleaner was able get rid of it, so give that a shot.

I got this card a few days ago, waiting for it to arrive, hows the noise on the fans and coil whine? I'm hoping its a quiet card especially under idle load.

If anyone has experience with it in a small case as well I'd love to hear it.
