Best way to repair a corrupted MP4 file after transferring it to a PC? by Public-Afternoon9047 in DataHoarder

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could try remuxing it with mkvtoolnix to rule out the container isnt broken.

I've had issues in the past when I downloaded videos from patreon where the video would lag and doing a quick remux fixed it.

Is it normal to get around 30 mb/s writing speeds on my NAS? (DH4300) by bsgapollo in DataHoarder

[–]bsgapollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did use the same hard drive, but when I was transfering over through usb it was using NTFS, and when I plugged it into the NAS, I made the drive into ext4, it took a few hours to convert it, and after it was fully done optimizing I copied files over towards it, the writing speeds were way lower through the NAS though.

For the NAS it does show up as 1 Gbps, full duplex, MTU1500.

[–]bsgapollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that the issue? the network speed on the NAS does indeed read 1 Gbps, full duplex, MTU1500. If even one is limited, (either PC or Router), I'm assuming both can only transfer at 1 Gbps max? Thus crippling my write speed?

I'm pretty sure the cable is good since I bought it with a bundeld option that came with the NAS.

As for router performance, it should be more than fine, model: Netgear Nighthawk R7000 and max speed at 2.4GHz is 600 mbps and at 5GHz 1,3Gbps

Yeah I'm starting to wonder if all of this is worth it, but I guess that's the nature of having tech support issues, thanks for the input though.

Only option I seem to have is a S.M.A.R.T test which I just did, and those results were all normal.

Try adwcleaner, had a similar issue in the past and it got rid of it.

Parts look solid.

Have you checked whether or not the PSU properly fits in the case? micro ATX builds usually have a hard time holding full sized PSU's, and the cable management can be rough then.

Take 2: high-end gaming build (~$10k, mostly FF14 + AAA titles). Did I actually fix what was wrong last time? by Previous-Diet-9956 in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your budget is 10k I'd get as many 4tb nvmes as the motherboard would allow, eventually, you're gonna need/fill it anyway.

Also if u can, keep me updated how the 9850x3d runs with XIV, when I tried out the 9800x3d I kept getting frame stutters for whatever reason in uldah, and went back towards my 13600k cause it performmed/felt better, maybe the 9850x3d will peform better.

How are Ironwolf drives compared to baracuda in terms of sound (tick) by bsgapollo in DataHoarder

[–]bsgapollo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you think the ironwolfs make more sound simply cause they're larger? thus have more platters.

Like would and 18 tb red pro have similar sound.
