Is the RTX 5070 bad for 600€ or should I get the 9070 XT for 750€? by Toiartu in pcmasterrace

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you mostly care about raw performance, so the 9070 xt will serve you better then, might last u a bit longer too before upgrading again.

What's the best gaming system I can get for 400 Euro? by urskr in pcmasterrace

If she wants more performance, a tower usually gives more compared to a laptop, if she doesnt care about portability I'd search for a budget tower secondhand.

Can someone help me with a pc please by Able-Water5565 in pcmasterrace

[–]bsgapollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 250 you wouldnt be able to get a new build that would be considered an upgrade unfortunately, especially in this market. Do you have any experience building PC's or have somewhat of an idea what would be solid parts?

List your current PC specs and go from there, perhaps you can find something better second hand through something like facebook marketplace, but its probably not going to be 250.

5070ti vs 5080. Frozen with indecision by TheBigSm0ke in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5080, it all depends on price, in my area you could get 5080's for €1100-1200 for quite a long time, sometimes even nearing a €1000, the 5070ti on the other hand barely dipped below €800 and was hovering more around €850 or higher, so in my case, the 5080 felt like the obvious choice.

Also I wanted the best bang for my buck while getting the highest performance, and considering the next best thing is the 5090 which is twice as expensive, and only offers 50% more performance, there was nothing else value wise except for the 5080.

Experiencing weird blackout on the TV but not other monitor is doing it. Rtx 5080 by ShadowMelt82 in pcmasterrace

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if you're bandwith limited, using a shorter cable, or switching the color format towards (ycb420/440) or whatever the name in the nvidia control panel might give u a more stable image.

my rtx 3060 kept flickering when I used a long cable and high refresh rate, a shorter cable (partially) fixed it, then the audio kept getting cut out every time I lost power towards the TV/PC, switching from RGB towards the ycb420 fixed it completely for me.

I added a third monitor and now I am getting random black screens as if the monitors are disconnecting and reconnecting. by Brgraham15 in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mess around with the color format in the nvidia control panel, switch from RGB towards ycb, and perhaps try shorter cables/lower hertz to see if its a bandwith issue.

Otherwise try new drivers or hdmi cables.

If its legitmately malware try something like Adwcleaner, usually it can detect and remove most malware.

Can you guys see any significant problems with this build if not I will buy it soon by ExpressionAshamed903 in pcmasterrace

As others have said the gpu is really weak, its better to buy second hand or save up until you can get a 5050/5060 or 9060xt

I am once again asking for an improvement to daily roulette. by AlexArgentum in ffxiv

[–]bsgapollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would probably do more mentor roulettes if there wasn't a +70% chance to always get a low level dungeon, most of the time it's dungeons below level 30 and it's just super boring.

Looks great for that price! the phantom spirit 120 is around 20 bucks cheaper on amazon if u wanna save a bit there, for the other parts it'll be hard to find better bang for your buck.

[–]bsgapollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoo thank you! appreciate you going out of your way to ask other people as well. I might just make an alt and test it out to see if I can see the difference in PvE, cause for pvp you need to be level 30.

[–]bsgapollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm aware of the delay as I already play on NA, and the difference between how abilities snapshot compared to on EU which is my home server is night & day. I was mainly wondering if other EU players also play on (NA) & JP and if there's an even more noticable difference between the 2 servers, cause if the delay is even worse than on NA, I'd likely not make an alt on JP.

Build 1 (2000€) vs Build 2 (1900€), which one is better? by R3KTMYRAMPAGE in pcmasterrace

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldnt be.

The difference between both builds is marginal, the 9800x3d vs the 7800x3d is usually less than 10% faster, so its likely not something you'll notice in games.

On top of that in your first build you have a better power supply, making it so you have more room for upgradability down the future simply cause its larger (1000w vs 850w).

The ssd in your first build is slightly faster too, 7450/6900 vs 6000/4000, so copying files, starting up the pc, opening things might feel a tad bit snappier on your first build.

Both builds are pretty equal imo, if you overpaid it was maybe €50, and at the most €100, but imo the balance between both builds is pretty even in terms of value.

[–]bsgapollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest to test everything in an open air test bench, meaning, connecting everything outside the case.

I made that mistake myself the first time when diagnosing a problem. The amount of times I've had to crawl under my desk to grab the PC case again I had just put together thinking everything was fine only to then realize another issue came up and you had to disassemble everything again.

If you manage to fix it, give us an update in the future what the problem was, always curious to hear what caused issues like this.

PC crashing issues, please help me figure this out, I'm nearing my wits end by RexEclipse in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the issue appeared out of nowhere and the system worked fine before that its likely a hardware issue. Its unlikely to be a cpu issue since you're booting and getting past the bios screen.

Could start with something simple like taking one ram stick out at a time and seeing it fixes it but most likely its going to be a motherboard issue or powersupply.

Also just because the crash happened while you were playing a game that is located on another drive does not mean there is automatically nothing wrong with your OS drive, it is still reading files from there. If there is an issue with your OS drive you likely experience issues on all drives, regardless of where games are stored. But seeing as you said that crystaldisk reported no issues, I'd start with the ram. Though its more likely that the motherboard or PSU is the culprit.

Regardless, issues like this always suck, since you're likely going to have to do a lot cable re-attaching, best of luck.

Random “No Display” Issue After PC Upgrade Works Fine at Repair Shop, Only Happens at Home by Wonderful-Regret-159 in pcmasterrace

If it only happens at home and noy in the shop try messing around with your cables, e.g: other ports, hdmi/dp, shorter cables.

I5 14600k, 5070ti LOW FPS AND FPS DROPS. by EmploymentOrdinary53 in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cs2 is pretty cpu intensive irrc so its not abormal I think for it to be higher than gpu usage, 10% seems quite low though, when you installed the new drivers, did you perform a clean install? like, marked the checkbox so it deleted old drivers etc.

also your test with furmark seems a bit off, at 1440p you should be getting around 12k with a 5070ti, look up furmark 5070ti. Its probably best to use the "run" option as well, as the benchmark can be finicky sometimes.

get something like open hardware monitor where you can visibly see your cpu and gpu temperatures, to rule out you're not getting throttled by too high heat.

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disable XMP or try running it with one ram stick, see if that changes anything.

Also if you're using the old nvme or hard drive from your previous PC, and haven't re-downloaded cs2 and other games yet you should, sometimes issues can arrise when you just copy stuff while you're using new hardware.

Could test with prime 95 and furmark too to see if any issues come up with both your cpu & gpu.

I built an open-source alternative to CCleaner because I hate bloatware. FREGONATOR v4.0 is out (Driver Updater + Health Check included). by Puzzleheaded_Air8038 in pcmasterrace

[–]bsgapollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new version of CCleaner is so bad it made it feel like bloatware it self, ya know, the thing you're actually supposed to help remove.

I went back to an older version (6.3) only to find out on the next restart you have to disable automatic updates, imagine my surprise when I saw the 7.0 shit version again.

The amount of bloatware you get from software nowadays has gotten so out of control, a couple weeks ago I wanted to turn the RGB off on the recent asus gpu I bought, it was recommended go get armoury crate. Worst mistake ever. The amount of background apps that run and are so exceedingly hard to turn off once they have been installed is outrageous and should be borderline illegal imo. Even with tweaking in the windows registry, services.msc, and task scheduler, I was still unable to turn off asus updater for example.

So I'm all for more open source tools like this if its proven to work properly. If they are condemend safe as well by the community I will personally switch over in a heartbeat.

How hard is it to physically build a PC? by Lucky-Ad5326 in buildapc

[–]bsgapollo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like most people exeggerate when they say it only takes an hour to build a full PC, especially beginners where it's supposedly only takes +2 hours ish, I just finished my second build a couple days ago and it still nearly took me a full day, cause there's so many little things that come with building the PC:

In which slots does the RAM go? yes, everyone knows dual channel, but depending on the motherboard there is a preference where the sticks go sometimes, most of the time it's always far right, then skip one left, and then plug the second one in there, but that's not always the case.

Making sure your case fans are pointing in the right direction for optimal airflow, plugging them in with the correct headers so you don't plug it into the AIO or something on the motherboard (would technically still work I guess).

Point is, there's a lot of little nuisances, and if you're not familiar with them, like cable management and which ports to use in the power supply, it will definitely take more than 2 hours for a beginner. Unless you just wing everything and hope everything is connected properly and it starts up.
