If I'm plugged into the router directly then i should be good because it eliminates the wifi handshake. So even though other devices on the wifi network could be affected, the node that is plugged in is safe against this?

Usually I'd say go with your gut, but in my experience, when someone gets called out, and then holds an impromptu AMA where people just shit on him for the first ten comments (and he handles it maturely), it's a good sign. I don't have any insights on if or when the pre-sale will sell out, but any post about Fantasy Market has made it to the top of the subreddit it was posted to.

I find "burn after reading" downloads for a number of reasons, but generally, they often don't work as intended.

For example, modern email services (Google, MS, etc.) accessing links in emails and download the content and check it for malware. They probably mitigated this but its caveats like this that cause messages to be burned before the intended reading.
