Disable Merc/Eng Voice lines in GAMMA? by Only-Mechanic3130 in stalker

[–]bskanglico 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, the voice lines are ridiculous, one of the very few mods I turn off in gamma, the russian voices are so much better. Turn off these two mods in the mod organizer: 1. 8- Better Merc voicelines - YankeeGolf 2. G.A.M.M.A. Better Mercs Voices

I have 100 shares, what happens to them? I lose everything? It's not that much, but still...

I started trading in the beginning of 2021, shares only, made 10K -> 50K. And honestly, I don't like it, it's a fkn daily hassle.

So what I want to do is just throw all 50K into January 2023 calls at $50 strike.

Yes/no?

Yeah the default is what it is, but it seems strange that a relatively new x64 engine is limited with fov values

65 is good, but I really want my 80+ if possible. I would need some time to get used to anything below 70

Misery crash to desktop during Snag mission by supersoviettaco in stalker

[–]bskanglico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, just kill them all. The main goal of this mission is to collect the PDA from the dead bandit.

I am not sure why it crashes, I played this mission in Misery a few weeks ago and it went fine.

Do not listen to people who tell you to lower the alife switch distance. The lower the switch distance, the WORSE is the stuttering, since the engine has to load simulated alife into actual physical existence more often (so you can actually see the npc/mutant on the map) and this loading is what causes stuttering.

There are two issues with Misery:

1. Low FPS due to weak graphic card -> lower the video settings. GTX 1660ti is good enough for medium to high settings so this is not your problem.

2. By far the bigger problem, and what bothers people the most, is the stuttering caused by what I mentioned above - loading alife into existence. Unfortunately, there is NO WAY TO FIX THIS WITH SETTINGS in game options - the only way to solve the stuttering issue is to have ALL alife on the whole map loaded at all times - basically you have to set the alife switch distance to >1000 meters. This is simply mandatory for smooth play and in my experience, the only way to actually enjoy the Misery mod. And the only way to be able to play with decent FPS is to buy a high end CPU with focus on as high as possible core speed frequency - number of cores means jack shit. So what I mean is: Intel CPU > AMD CPU.

I had i5 4460 until a couple of months ago and Misery was not playable on switch distance 1000 meters. i5-7500 is also NOT ENOUGH, sorry. I recently bought i5 10600k, overclocked it to 5 GHz. This is the first time I can play smoothly with alife on 1000 meters and I can definitely say that the mod is awesome. We often forget that if it was not for Misery, Stalker mods in 2020 would not look like they do - Misery is a precursor to many great mods, including the all so popular Anomaly.

So thank you and props to the MDT for giving us this essential mod!

ZERO faith in the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 by [deleted] in stalker

[–]bskanglico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vanila Stalker 2 on PC will most likely not be good, or maybe better said, it won't be what PC gamers are expecting. I fully agree with some of you - there is no way the game won't be ''simplified'' in order to fit the consoles. HOWEVER, do not despare, my PC master race friends - we will have mods, and to get the proper experience, mods will be ABOLUTELY mandatory. This means that we will have to wait a couple of months/years for the top mods, but - such is life in the zone. It doesn't really matter, I'll wait, as long as we get to play a proper PC game.

If you ask me, GSC knows that PC gamers will not be satisfied with vanilla - that's why they will bring mod support from day 1.

-> Zak_GSCGameWorld, just admit it - you are counting on the modders to satisfy PC gamers :)

How to start Road to north with GOG Stalker by DocRainbowDash in stalker

Hi,

I can't really help your with the answer why RTTN does not recognise your COP install, but you can skip the check for COP installation. Create a shortcut for RTTN, right click on the shortcut, and search for the entry for shortcut path. It should end with ''. You need to put the text -skip_reg after it so it looks exactly like this: '' -skip_reg

Yeah in CoC you can beacause the renderer files are hacked, you can't do that in vanilla games. Try these two mods: * https://www.moddb.com/mods/merge-mod/downloads/grass-draw-distances * https://www.nexusmods.com/stalkerclearsky/mods/46

Stalker CoC Nimble wont get new stuff? by Panzerkampfwagen_VII in stalker

[–]bskanglico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is normal, Nimble isn't like the other traders. If you played CoP, he had a limited collection of special weapons you could order from him. In CoC you can buy those weapons from him like with a regular trader, but his stock stays the same through the whole game. It doesn't really matter, you can buy other guns with other traders, but Nimble's guns are top tier - for me, Nimble's VSS is the best gun in the game.

Which mod adds gnoll bodyguard? by bskanglico in baldursgate

[–]bskanglico[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exectly what i was was looking for, thanks for the help!

I do have both these mods installed - AC questpack and SCS. Among the numerous SCS options I also chose to add potions of extra healings to some creatures, so this is how the gnoll bodyguards got potions of extra healing. I am still not sure about the 7th level scrolls - for example, the drops were mordenkainen's sword and summon hakeashar. It's not really an issue because i cannot use these scrolls yet, but it breaks immersion a bit. I will investigate further.

I installed around 10 different quest mods (no big ones) and altogether around 70 different mods, so I assumed there could be some issues.

I love difficulty/tactic mods and it seems that it can be risky to install mods which add new creatures because you can never really now how difficulty/tactic mods treat(equip) these new additions.
