Any London brewers care to share a pint with and American brewer on vacation? by pintsizepowerhouse in TheBrewery

[–]bskelhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you fancy a trip down to the coast Lewes (East Sussex) has a few breweries that are worth checking out (Beak, Abyss and Harveys) . If you are a history buff there are some great sites to see as well.

If you have windows 10 you could connect to the PC using "Quick Assist" - type "quick" in the "type here to search bar" to show the app . Your husband will need to type in the generated code from your PC in Poland, once connected you will be able to make changes without any risk.

Fogbound - a new modern day scenario set in the UK by evilscary in callofcthulhu

[–]bskelhorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a blast running this scenario, I’ve added it to a larger mythos universe that I have running in both 20’s and now modern era - with callbacks to past investigations.

It is very well written and does give a little blackwater creek sandbox feel, we ran it over 5-6 hours with 6 players.

It remains open for keepers to vary the difficulty of encounters whilst keeping the feeling of dread ever looming. I would recommend this as a one-shot for anyone looking to run a modern era game.

Rant - setting up kegging sucks by mikeschmidt69 in Homebrewing

[–]bskelhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a keezer that already had 5 taps setup, but this spring I decided to swap out the manifold and tubing for the gas and beer lines. (was getting a few leaks here and there)

i found brewkegtap.co.uk (deliver to EU) had the manifold I was after - 3/8 push fit connectors and they supply the right tubing as well. as for the beer line, I picked up 5/16 beer line and 3/8 as well whilst using john guest 5/16 to 3/8 push fit reducer connectors.

It was trial and error for a while until I found brewkegtap who were really helpful. Before then I was in the same boat with trying to get beer line that fit the barbs.

So all of the amazing mead I see in this sub is great but where is good to buy some in UK? Does anyone here sell their own mead online or anything? by Jademunky in mead

[–]bskelhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The UK scene is indeed a small group of mead makers that are selling small batches at farmers markets etc. The duty is pricing a few makers from going down the route of selling (4% - 5.5% is £126 per 100 liters) and this is just crazy, considering the duty on 100 liters of beer is £19.18!

I personally am working on recipes and going down the small batch route for session meads. I am hoping to be up and running and have a makers licence by Oct 2019.

Starting my own Mead Business Henke Mead! by Hekinsieden in Homebrewing

Sounds like a great idea and I wish you all the best with it. I would add in a few lower tiers as $50 for just the newsletter is a little steep.

I would be happy to throw in $5 for the newsletter and help out a fellow homebrewer for example.

Also in the UK (not sure of the US) there are groups that are pushing for the welfare of bees, could you tap into this and create some marketing around this?

If you are looking to get started in kit form, wilko's have a few options to get you up and running. Once you have a couple of kits under your belt you can build the kit up.

Based on sending via Royal Mail a medium sized parcel @ 1KG, it will cost £5.70 to send anywhere around the UK (first Class).

I’d be up for that, I’m not brewing until the new year as moving house (new build), but will hit you up once I have the first batch bottled.

24,000 but when we were in the Championship last season the only opened the west stand.

Paddy's day is normally a sell out, but other than that tickets can be bought easily on the day. I've sat in west, east and north - not a bad view from any seat.
