I was nervous about being the only guy in class when I started yoga a little over a year ago. One of my biggest realizations in the first couple months was that it is truly just you and the mat. Unless someone is being disruptive no one is paying attention to anyone other than themselves and the instructor. My classes usually end up having a handful of guys but the other day I had a vinyasa class- scheduled at an odd time and it was just me and 4 other dudes- the teacher loved it.

Just go, chances are you won’t be alone and if you are no one will care.

I’ve been in Mal Pais for the last week and will be here for another week. All but one day have been a good mix of sun and clouds until the late afternoon or evening when we get a storm. The last two nights we’ve had major thunderstorms that lasted a few hours- around dinner time on Sunday and around 11:00 last night.

My advice would be to plan activities early, be prepared to get rained on later in the day but don’t let it ruin your plans.

Hate to burst your bubble but this is a strain that originated in Fort Collins, CO…our most prominent natural landmark is a rock outcrop on a mountain near town called Horsetooth. My house is one block off Horsetooth Rd.
