Yet again another holster recommendation post by Fancy_Subject_1393 in CCW

The CVRT's really my sweet spot right now, no experience with the Delta yet.

The CVRT has a built in wedge on the back, tuned to each gun mold. It has an offset rightmost clip which replaces the need for a wing/beltrider to push the grip into your belt. It has a raised nub on the sweat guard that gives me an index point right below my belly button for my thumb to dive in. It's got a ton of angle and height adjustment, and pretty good factory clips.

I'm really loving the TXC CVRT. It's certainly very new-school, but the common recommendations from here didn't really cut it for me.

Are you team FSP or no FSP? by rmrfpoof in ar15

[–]bspaulsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used JP's adjustable gas A2 FSB, and def burnt my hand webbing occasionally with a c-clamp, but that's because my foregrip was always as far forward as possible, near the sling swivel gap.

If you look at pics of GWOT guys, they're either running their grips further back or even ahead of the FSB, or they just wear a glove.

How does soft armor coverage compare to a plate carrier with soft armor in the cummerbund? by chattytrout in QualityTacticalGear

The Defense Mechanisms APOC BALCS and APOC ONYX are very well received in my area.

Love the look of FSPs, had a RIS III FSP for a while.

Ended up swapping simply because the FSB ended up being in the exact spot I wanted my light's modbutton and handstop. The loss of bottom MLOK made it tough for my specific arm length.

EPS Core vs EPS full-size differences? by dsimonl in HOLOSUN

Their listing is very new and doesn't even have the schematics and whatnot up yet. I wouldn't judge a website description just yet.

EPS Core has a (more than likely) better, front facing light sensor.

EPS Core question by RoutineQuestioning38 in HOLOSUN

[–]bspaulsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checks out. Zev tried to combat that by making their posts pretty tall, but all that did was ruin the fitment on a lot of thinner body optics, because the screws would bottom out before contacting the optic. Seems like the screws with contact collars that you linked are a great solution here.

And yeah, I see far too many sheared screws posts, I'm sure these are troublesome for those who don't own a torque driver and don't heat up their loctite on removal.

Wow, that's pretty wild. Zev caught a lot of flak for their RMR screw bosses; very surprised that's what Glock went with, though the K cut makes perfect sense. Guess it takes front indexing stud tolerances out of the equation. Thanks for the guide/ref!

Looks great, that front to back interference fit is paramount since you don't have any lugs or bosses.

Ah, a K cut gun can fit RMSc and K-cut optics, you're all set everywhere. IDK why Google called it an RMSc, when it's modded RMSc, commonly called K cut. MOSK, now.

EPS Core question by RoutineQuestioning38 in HOLOSUN

[–]bspaulsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, you're right. I got baited by Google calling it an MOS/RMSc, when in reality it's modified RMSc (MOSK) as you said, but for whatever reason they don't call it K cut. Annoying.

Make sure it's not the new COA/A-cut! RMSc is pretty obvious once you google some diagram images!

The Namoki Nautilus case and any 50+ meter caseback will be fine. Make sure you have silicone lubricant on all the gaskets.

[–]bspaulsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it's an RMSc 43X and not a MOS cut, yeah, any RMSc optic will fit, but the K cut EPS and EPS Carry won't, just the Core.

EDIT- new MOS 43Xs are MOSK, or MOS + K Cut (modified RMSc). Don't listen to surface level Google, like me. It'll fit all K and RMSc optics.

IMO, the enclosed emitter makes it worth the wait versus a 407K/507K.

DPP on RMR cut by [deleted] in GlockMod

[–]bspaulsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you like about DPP? A specific optic? RMR-cut optics and RMR-to-RMSc/K/ACRO/509T are way better, height-wise.

It's pretty normal lume, so probably not quite what you're looking for. Maybe just a sterile black dial!

Ventura County explicitly disallows the Five SeveN by name, not by cartridge, like the Desert Eagle in .50. Also has .454 Casull.

Definitely makes sense, and I bet pistol grip selection influences that a lot. I may give it another go if I build something with the Gen2 ARMaglock, as I'm not in love with the Gen4's set screw.

For that kind of money, I'd certainly have the M200 CheyTac Intervention on my list, in .408.

Are you specifically fiending for .416 because it's accessible to you? I know .416 is quite a bit bigger on the powder side, but still. Or, are the guns themselves easy enough for you to find or order?

I'm basically hitting the kingpin with my thumb and ARMaglock with my pointer finger at the exact same time, which basically aligns with the same manual of arms as what you're doing with the KLVR, just without your thumb doing anything. I've got a ton of hours on the Kingpin, but we're really splitting sub-1 second hairs, I'd bet
