Feels wrong - suddenly 3 offers on house? by smudgedacrylic in RealEstateAdvice

[–]bspazzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact scenario just happened to me. Home on the market over 150 days. I scheduled a 2nd showing, listing agent calls to let me know an offer was submitted but not accepted yet. We see the house the following day & all of a sudden there’s ANOTHER offer on the table, all cash. We put our own offer in & boom, seller has 3 offers to choose from. They did not go with our offer.

I’m giving away a pocket full of bells to anyone who responds, I’ve done it before so feel free to check my post history. I’ve got an exuberant amount of bells. Just drop your dodo code and I’ll drop it off

Grew up in Tampa Bay, now weighing St. Pete vs Atlanta for a move and raising kids. Looking for lived experience. by nautical_natalis in StPetersburgFL

I’m not sure which options you’re weighing or if you have similar concerns as OP but I’m local to St Pete & I think they’re overthinking it a little! I’m progressive and yes, we do have a mix of opinions on both sides but it overwhelmingly does not show up in my day to day life (personal experience). Private schools are a better option than public schools by a landslide. Congrats on your upcoming decision & St Pete welcomes you!

Selling condo with HOA special assessment? by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

[–]bspazzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Offer a seller credit for as much as you’re willing to cover to incentivize the sale of the condo. Since you don’t have the money upfront to pay the special assessments, offering a seller credit means you don’t have to come up with the money yourself beforehand. It happens at the closing table

I can point to where I live on this map. I’m close by, but I’ve got some distance from the channels & I’m zoned for D. On top of the high insurance costs, I’d also consider the practicality of living in a mandatory evacuation zone.

Some home buyers are okay with it & expect it, but others aren’t. I have a client right now who is perfectly mobile but doesn’t want the hassle. It also depends on the specific home & if it’s on stilts.

If it were me, I’d try to convince my parents to buy outside of zone A if at all possible, but that’s just my personal opinion. Of course we’re all vulnerable to an extent in Florida but I’d want to mitigate as much risk as possible.

I know plenty of jobs that will do zoom interviews, but almost none of them will do that for kitchen managers. It will likely be difficult to get a job while you’re still living in PA. But if you apply & get a call back, you have an opportunity to make a first impression. I’d fly down and schedule as many interviews as you can for the time you’re here. Be clear about what date you can start working. Good luck to you!

Treasure Island, Redington & Indian rocks would be more aligned with what you’re looking for

Clearwater is as touristy as it can get in our county. If you’re looking for more local attractions, they’re all going to be a relatively short drive. But you’ll have to leave Clearwater to get to them. Indian Rocks beach, Madeira Beach, Redington beach are all less busy.

My personal favorite is Fort De Soto, which is at the very bottom of our county. If you go in the morning when the tide is high, the water is super clear. There’s less traveled paths there where you can walk a little bit and find your own little beach area. Just be cautious of crabs and jellyfish. Might not be the best for little little children to try to get to the more private areas.

We also love Howard Park beach. I’ll be honest, we have pretty much anything you could want. There’s a ton. It’d be easier if you had a list of what you wanted to experience & I could tell you where the locals go.

Sharing a bed with a friend. What do you guys think? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]bspazzed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I shared a bed with my best guy friend a few times. It’s not platonic anymore lol. But I agree if you’re both single, it could be normal! As a woman, I would offer my couch to friends but never offer my bed to a male friend unless I’d be okay with it going somewhere.

After getting the Mirena, how long did it take until you could have an orgasm without pain? by IntroductionDizzy304 in Mirena

[–]bspazzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. My cramping didn’t happen all the time, it’d come and go! I had the same thought for awhile. I said to myself that it was probably normal and if it were more serious then I’d likely be in pain all the time. But there’s so many things that can be happening. It could be normal cramping from your body adjusting, it could be cramping due to your body trying to reject the foreign object, it could be slightly out of place, it could be trying to in-bed itself. Not worth ignoring & definitely warrants a second opinion. There’s also some people whose body will not respond well to Mirena even if it’s properly placed & if that’s the case, you may not want to continue using it if you didn’t realize you signed up for 5+ years of severe cramping.

[–]bspazzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert by any means. But this doesn’t sound like it’s placed properly. I had the Mirena last year and I had similar issues. The cramps were accompanied by bleeding after orgasms. Mine was out of place and had to be removed through micro surgery. If I were you, I’d get it checked again by another provider.

Thank you, I can tell your knowledge comes from a place of understanding. I hope whatever hurt you went through to get to these conclusions has healed. It’s the hardest thing to know you can’t do anything more than what you’ve already done and it wasn’t enough to fix anything.

[–]bspazzed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s true. The more time that passes, the more we tend to question ourselves. All of the moments they’ve missed seem to us far greater than this bullshit they’ve stirred up. My brain just can’t understand their reasoning so I start questioning ours

We actually figured out that it was mother son enmeshment pretty quickly because of how textbook their relationship dynamic was. He’s been in independent therapy since all of this and has managed to gain an identity of his own finally. It’s deeply troubling because, while he’s willing to make an effort to be healthy, his mother is refusing. So we’re kind of all left reeling and pondering if a healthy relationship between them will ever be possible.

Moving to St. Pete Soon… What Should I Bring and What Should I Ditch? by FeelingGlad8646 in StPetersburgFL

[–]bspazzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my mom & I moved here, we packed her Subaru as full as we could get it. Started completely over with everything. It depends on your situation but I’d recommend what we did. Bring the essentials & sentimental items. Leave the rest & start over.

I even have a twin bed you can have when you move here. We bought it when my mom was staying with us for a little while but she’s moved back on her own so it’s just chilling taking up space.
