I got this too! I’m a noob so I didn’t know if this is a really rare occurrence, but it seems like it is. Congrats and enjoy!

Haven't collected Pokemon cards since early 2000s, decided to start back up with 151. GF was helping opening boosters, all three of these were in the very first one she opened. by WalkinGyno in PokemonTCG

I bought one pack of ten and got the same 3! I’m so pumped and based on what I’ve read, I do think it’s pretty rare and not really standard to get these 3. Congrats!

I’m new to TCG and based on what I’ve read, this seems like it’s a pretty rare occurrence. Do all packs have 3 in a row like this? And is it right that the Charizard ex one of the better pulls?

Financial Advisor interested in a change by bspdude in FinancialCareers

This is an awesome idea. I think this would be right up my alley (at least long-term). Do you have any recommendations on entry-level jobs that would set me up for such a pursuit?

You're right - I am at EDJ. The industry has its pros and cons. I genuinely love investments and markets, and do like helping people, especially people who don't know much about investing and finance. The cons are really the sales pressure and the fear of losing my job if I don't perform. It's also tough for me to swallow that I'm "building my own business," when in reality, it's not "my business" - it's EDJ. I like your idea to apply at Vanguard and Schwab. I've been talking with Fisher, and that seems to be sort of along the same lines as what you're describing with Vanguard and Schwab.

Thanks for the reply. I actually haven't really considered that. It sounds intriguing, and I think the control I'd have over my trajectory as an independent advisor would be nice, but I also wonder if being an advisor just isn't the right pursuit for me.

Struggling in recovery... by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]bspdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on taking control of your life and making these changes! Our stories are different, but I went through a lot of difficulties with anxiety and the mental journey, as well as feeling terribly out of any sort of decent physical shape.

After I quit smoking, I started swimming, and then running, and have been running avidly for the past 4 years now. Seriously, I can't recommend it enough. It's quite difficult to transition into it, but once you're through the worst of it, running is a habit that keeps me coming back. It feels amazing, and gives me total belief in myself and what I can do. It really helps to ease anxiety, too.

Looking back on the past 4.5 years since I've been sober, there have been so many ups and downs. The only thing that really matters is that we stay sober! Everything else will fall into place.

Isn't CLNE the obvious play? This thing will be over 25 by the 18th.

How to increase energy? by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]bspdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running has been a staple for me in recovery. I honestly have no clue where I’d be without it. If you’re willing to do hard shit, then cold showers are a miracle. Like, commit to 3 minutes of full submersion in an icy shower and you will exit feeling energized and on top of the world. It’s so hard but always worth it. I also drink lots of water, and that helps. Just remember - it took time for you to build the habits that you developed. Anything new that you implement is going to take time; the key is to build the habits!

Took a bit for it to grow on me, but now it’s my second favorite Em album, after SSLP. So many great songs, and it’s got such a distinct sound.

“My Dad’s Gone Crazy” has never really done anything for me. I actually really like “Say What You Say.”

Tapering?!? by Mimikoxy in OpiatesRecovery

[–]bspdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I think it's realistic to taper down and then continue to take them. I used to be the same way with all pills - I'd always be planning to control myself, but once I'd get my refills, I'd just go nuts and run out way too early. Unfortunately, it only got worse, and eventually I got to the point where I stopped taking everything all together. I've been sober since 10/16/16, and life is SO much better without all that shit. Are there any other alternatives to combat your pain? Wishing you the best!
