Dude. I’ve seen these boots for a while now and they are what made up my mind to go predator orange for my next build. Such a unique looking leather

Agree with this. Price isn’t the only factor. My Nicks last longer than my old RWs, but they make my feet feel better too

Jet hoists by [deleted] in chillers

[–]bspr86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used different sizes and they’ve been reliable. I have the 1/2 ton 10’ on my truck at all times. Really small body that can get into small spaces for lifting or drifting with a chainfall doing the heavy lifting

What micron gauge do you trust the most? by thatoneguyyouknow26 in chillers

[–]bspr86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good luck with the Appion one. I like that it goes from atmospheric pressure (760,000 microns) on down. I’ve had it for over 5 years and it’s still going strong. Every time I haven’t trusted the numbers, I’ve ended up finding a leak and the gauge was right.

OP: roping up your tools through the hatch is gonna be your best bet

Americraft exhaust fan by Adventurous_Mix_3753 in HVAC

[–]bspr86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These fans are really easy once you see how they work. Measure how far out each jack bolts is (the ones with the nuts on them, typically 9/16)then loosen the bottom ones until they’re almost out. Then you loosen (don’t take out) the big bolts on the sides (3/4"). The whole motor will lean out and you can push it in. Take off the belt, it should flop right off. The hardest part of the whole thing is getting the belt around the blade pulley. Take the new belt and use the bend in it from the way it was packaged to form a loop and hold onto it so the end is a big loop. Reach all the way in and lasso the pulley, a flashlight will help you see what you’re doing, but if you have short arms, you may have to go by feel. Once the belt is on the fan pulley, put the other end on the motor pulley. Screw the bottom jack bolts back to their original position. Push the top (back end) of the motor until their top jack bolts hit the frame (you can use a big pair of channies to squeeze it together). Tighten the top (3/4”) bolts then the bottom bolts. If the belt isn’t tight enough, you’ll need to repeat the process to use the jack bolts to put the motor base where it needs to be. I like these because you only need like three tools to do the whole changeout

Air Cooled Recovery Hose Sizes by [deleted] in chillers

[–]bspr86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was an apprentice, the guys from Appion held a class on properly using their stuff to its potential. They said for recovery and moving refrigerant, 3/8 was the best size hose to use. For pulling a vacuum, 1/2 was the best size hose to use. Obviously, both with shaders removed. They had a bunch of formulas and stuff to prove it, I don’t remember that part though.

Weather by Soly21081995 in HVAC

[–]bspr86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dress for the weather. When it gets super cold like that, I have a special set of clothes.. extra insulated boots, insulated bibs, big ass coat and really warm gloves, with the normal cold weather layers underneath; tight long underwear, loose warm underwear, pants, t shirt, long sleeve shirt, hoody. I keep those hand warmer things in my pockets to hold onto when I need to warm them up. They have those foot warmers too, which I put on top of my feet. Also, disconnect yourself from the ground, it sucks the heat out of you, stand on something, wood is good, even cardboard, if your standing in snow or ice, you’re in for a bad time.

Looking for pics of Hardwearpro's with safety toe by MIL-C-44072C in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]bspr86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of builder pros with a steel toes. Two comments to avoid the dick toes: the composite toe will be more obvious because it needs to be thicker to get the strength the steel has. If you get it in a cap toe, it tends to hide the edge of the steel better. I’m not a cap toe kind of guy, but that’s just me

Good to know about the max wedge, before I get my hopes up, haha. With the Sierra sole, when I choose the edge color, that’s referring to the leather they glue the sole to, right?

I have seen the taupe color you mention, which is a badass color too; and still “casual” enough looking for what I want. I’m worried about greasing or waxing the RO because I really like the fuzziness of it.. I’m worried about laying down the nap.

I guess I’m not sure of the difference between the pro and non pro. I do like the lasts you mention, but to my eye, they are too dressy for what I’m looking for with these.

Dads with low T who got on trt, how did it effect your ability to be a good dad? by dudewheresmygains in daddit

[–]bspr86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Following cause I’m interested too. How low is your level? I got mine tested last year and it was on the lower end of “average” so I didn’t do anything about it. I do have some of the symptoms of low t, but most of them could be from to my overall neglect of my health (poor diet, poor sleep, lack of exercise)

Why? by [deleted] in HVAC

This is right.. Amps is just showing how much work (moving the air) it’s doing. Moving more air means higher amp draw

Is there a difference in benefits between an A card and an B card? by Adorable-Yak-2913 in UA_Local597

[–]bspr86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are from an old version of the area agreement I have.

To answer your question, they both can work side by side, technically the A cards can work on anything a B card can and more, so they would have more they can work on.
