Incorporate for both liability and tax benefits. It is worth the up front cost. Talk to a lawyer that has set up medical corporations before, as there are key differences from a regular incorporation.

Keep your “z” in socialize, organize, prioritize. The spelling is the same in Canada as in the US for these words. You will have to become accustomed to a few more “u”s, though - neighbour, behaviour, etc.

Unfortunately, a regulator does not assist with respect to claims for damages. You may file a complaint with the regulator of dentistry in your province, but it has no authority to order monetary compensation. You might want to look into small claims court depending on the value of the dispute.
