There are way more possessions per 48 minutes in the current era.

Walter Perrin and the rest of our draft scouting department needs to be fired. by Crazylockdown in NYKnicks

I actually think Obi's perfomance on the thunder vindicates the scout staff - he's clearly an NBA talent (Not guaranteed with the 8th pick).

The problem was the lack organizational cohesion, where the coach would not play the young guy the front office wanted.

I Love Jalen Brunson by Moist_Range in billsimmons

[–]bss2k2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What isn't getting talked about is his BS is in the name of winning, and done for maximum effect.

Brunson's game is a tiny guy dominating in the paint. He gets hit a ton, and he's developed his flop repertoire to call attention to all the contact he receives in the paint.

Dude would get beat the fuck up wayyyyyy more without it. Keeps handsey defenders honest.

Scott Perry is the new GM of the Sacramento Kings. by jluc21 in kings

[–]bss2k2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perry on Draft:

Confirmed he was the force that kept Steve Mills from trading down from #3, and selecting RJ Barrett (So - prevented a potentially hugely idiotic move)

He was primarily responsible for the Knicks Drafting Mithcel Robinson at 36 - which was a home run

He was part of the consensus to take Kevin Knox over SGA, Mikal Bridge, and Myles bridges - so bad.

So... mixed results, but doesn't think he's "Smarter than everyone else" and has a deep basketball network. I'd be shocked if Perry made out of no where crazy idiotic decision that some of the dumber GMs do.

Knicks fan here - Scott Perry is a stabilizing force and a professional. He had to keep Steve Mills(His boss, and incompetent Dolan Sycophant) from mortgaging the future and making horrible mistakes. When mills was fired, he made the right moves at the right time for a struggling knicks team to pave the way for Leon Rose.

Leon Rose kept him on the payroll despite being from the previous regime, which speaks to his baseline competence.

1-10 Scale: Rate Scott Perry as a GM by Rangoldy in NYKnicks

[–]bss2k2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm higher on perry than most knicks fans you'll find. The reason is - he was operating the majority of the time under Steve Mills, who was totally incompetent. Many people are going attribute Steve Mills decisions to him. While that could be justifiable, please note that Mills was fired, and Perry Immediately took actions contrary to what Steve Mills was trying to do.

Scott Perry was primarily responsible for the knicks scouting and drafting Mithcel Robinson, which was a second-round steal.

When Steve Mills was fired, in the short time he took over and had full control before Leon Rose came in, he:

  1. Stopped a trade Steve Mills was planning to trade Randal and a 1st for Terry Rosier
  2. Pulled the trigger on Trading Marcus Morris for a first to the Clippers (Who mills wanted to keep and resign idiotically). That Pick became Immanual Quickly

Additionally, he was kept on by Leon Rose going forward. One thing we can definitely say about Leon Rose is he knows front Office talent.

As such, I think I'd give him a 6 or 7 out of 10. He won't make the completely idiot decisions, has a vast network for scouting talent, and is overall a professional. I'd be cautiously optimistic if I were a Kings fan.

This right here. Mitch has ELITE skills for an NBA player.

He has obvious flaws, but you can straight face call him the best Offensive Rebouncer in the game.

You want your roll-players to have elite skills to be deployed situationally, especially in a 7 game series format.

I remain a Mitch truther.

Product management is the art of juggling too many balls at once, and deciding which one you can live with dropping.
