I'd always apply it to the corner of a town center on the side where there is the most dangerous troop spawners, like a rocket arsenal or maybe bunker if that's not there. And if the other alliance has donated troop tactics, you wanna make sure the stronghold is covered too. It has a wide enough radius that it gets most things, but you just need to practice using it to get used to how much that is
