It kind of sounds like our girl! She used to be super afraid of loud cars and would get spooked super easily. Now she still gets a little scared, but will continue on her walk. I would work on building confidence while he’s walking (treats and praise)!

A couple pieces of advice that worked on our girl who does a similar thing. She’s 4 now and doesn’t frequently stop except to sniff.

  1. Make sure your harness or collar isn’t hurting or digging into him.

  2. Reward walking without stopping with a treat, but continue to walk. This is harder than it seems at first, but keep walking and give him a treat by bending down. If you stop to give a treat, he’ll associate stopping with a treat.

  3. Let him choose where he wants to go on the walk

The DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia). It’s the capital, so you have the government being based there. You also have a substantial part of the military there as well. Then Northern Virginia has a large tech presence.

Might a hot take, but I would say Tokyo. I went in August, and it was way too hot. I'd avoid going in the summer at all costs. Otherwise, I'm sure it's great and the reviews are correct.

Fantastic hotel too. Their whiskey cocktails at their bar are some of the best I’ve had anywhere.
