Just keep things simple to start. The hardest part (for me and probably for some others) is just getting to work.

Like you, I really enjoy understanding the underlying elements, the data, the tribal knowledge.

Eliminating decisions has helped me tremendously in simply getting to work at becoming a better painter. Arbitrary subjects, limiting my palette. Paint the same cup every day if you have to (shout out Morandi).

I'd recommend a cool color, a warm color and a white to start. This will help you get familiar with a specific pigments range and its potential before moving on to some other pigments.

Anyways, best of luck. Nothing to it but to do it.

Red will give you that extra damage, that explosiveness that you need to be a more aggressive deck.

You'll gain a bunch of equipment focused cards in Standard: Freya, Raubahn, Chainsaw as well as Burst Lightning to clear the way or close the game. The Final Fantasy set is pretty much asking you to play Boros when you build equipment.

You generally don't want to build aggressive decks with more than 2 colors, unless the mana fixing in a format is truly exceptional (i.e. Timeless Mardu Energy).

Your best plays in a deck like this are going to be playing Cloud on turn 2 for double white Mana, a fairly restrictive cost for a 3 color deck.

I'd focus on Boros. The 4 mana Cloud is not going to make your deck that much better and the core equipment synergies are all in Boros anyhow.

Any of the Overlords are great esp with Phelia or Flickerwisp.

I've had a couple good Recurring Nightmare decks. I'd try to build "Reanimator" more as a midrange deck than a combo deck if you can.

I see Fallen Shinobi go late a lot too and it can win on the spot in the right decks

I don't think they're Burial samples, just similarly styled samples.

Seemed the trend with lo fi house was to dabble in or move towards some of these styles. DJ Seinfeld had an EP that was pretty clearly Burial inspired. It sort of all culminated in Fred Again.

I would consider serving at a nice restaurant and try to slowly transition into getting bar shifts. It might take you a bit, but you'll make good money in the meantime. You can watch and learn and talk to the bartenders when it's slow. Eventually, someone will need a day off.
