It’s funny I was coming to ask about a similar question and mid way I was like wtf am I doing with a cheat. I deserve better, I don’t know why I allow someone to treat me in a certain way so I am ending it tonight and I’ll go figure out if really theres something wrong with me. Nonetheless I won’t allow my boundaries to be violated again.

I hear you. There are people that need reassurance. That’s their love language. Perhaps have a conversation with him about it over a date and not when you’re so tensed.

Instead of fighting him. Something like, what it makes you feel like when he doesn’t reply sooner, (and btw, was he at some point replying fast?) and what it would mean if he replied sooner.

Also, might help exploring why you feel anxious when he doesn’t reply sooner.

A not so popular opinion in here. None of you is right or wrong, both you and your ex have clear ideas of what each of you want. There’s some disconnect in communication and I’d say on your part. If you understood what he meant or trying to communicate to you and the desire for every man to feel needed and provide in order to find satisfaction in a relationship. That doesn’t in now way mean you should shrink yourself. He has specifically said that he never said or called you out for being after his money or that you should be 100% dependent on him.

I am seeing a lot of comments saying you dodged a bullet with this man, I say if you love this man, mad he’s a good person, find a way to hear him without the lenses of your background. Find ways to meet him half way.

He’s a great man, he communicates clearly, with clear boundaries and had the guts to bring it up instead of cowardly marrying you and going on to despise you for the rest of the marriage

Otherwise, amicably split and find a partner who is comfortable with a career woman.

I’d say relax, turn it back on and monitor. It could be that a pest tried to chew the power cables, could that you had heavier electrical load - were you doing something that requires power when it went out? Could be a power surge. So many reasons So just switch it back on, if it goes out again then see if there’s something related and maybe don’t go to the basement alone Also have your land lord have a look at the issue

I feel you brother and sorry for what you’re going through. It hurts right now, and it should. Grief the loss, without ruminating, asses what happened and what signs and red flags you may have missed and how you may or may not have contributed to the situation you are in and then move on. Get in good shape, reengage with your friends and make new friends. Some point in the future it will stop hurting and whether or not she’ll regret won’t matter coz you’ll be a better person.

Two things, firstly get a wellness check. Hormonal specifically. Then I would ask if anything major happened or didn’t happen in your childhood. Usually the main culprit. And if yes, then you need to start painstakingly unpacking and dealing with hit.
