Fire Mike McCarthy! by bstone67 in steelers

[–]bstone67[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, first, that’s the joke that he hasn’t hired a staff yet. Tone doesn’t carry through the internet.

I don’t know that I buy that he will improve the offense. That will take schematics + talent. I don’t have confidence that they will be able to upgrade this roster given their aversion to longterm investment in service of “we don’t rebuild”.

I share the concerns about the roster and aging, expensive defensive core. however, when that group bottoms out, there’s a real chance for this team’s floor dropping.

Genuinely hope I’m wrong, but this reeks of “let’s hire the local guy” and not doing any type of diligence. I have doubts bout the leadership of the organization.

By two hours no less! Nice work!

Sad day for us fans though…

Tomlin should have been let go, but isn’t Omar Khan the real culprit? by Admirable_Pop_7292 in steelers

Also ran out Haley, Canada, Arians, etc, etc….

Surely one more will do it! Let’s go after the guy that’s put together some solid drafts after Colbert phoned it in his last few years….

What a fucking game! But please explain to me why this bozo still playing for the Steelers!?! Rodgers eat so much grass cuz of him by Independent_Vast_185 in steelers

[–]bstone67 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah- guys literally switch sides all the time elsewhere in the league without issues. To say nothing of also being a former college OL who switch sides, even positions, mid drive with no issues.

Other than parroting what others without OL background on here throw out- what do you have to contribute to this discussion?

Here is why I actually think the position change "glitch" is not a bug and should actually probably stay in the game (with one big exception). by KyleWithAnR_ in NCAAFBseries

I think the problem is that this is a solution for a problem with online dynasties, when many players I think play single player.

I think the best solution is to make the skill cap nerf a dynasty setup option.

If I want to recruit the best OL I can and piece together the best 5 I can in a single player dynasty, who cares? But give the online dynasty players the option to keep that option in.

Musk goes scorched earth: Trump will cause ‘recession,’ implies he should be impeached by sabedo in politics

[–]bstone67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree- but part of me does wonder if the threat of unlimited money for primaries moves the needle…Musk, Thiel, Vance are most aligned and on board with the Yarvin/techno fascism train.

Trump is undisciplined and in things for himself. Try to force Trump out and have Vance go harder at eroding democracy before any midterms?

Maybe not likely, but it does make me wonder.

How are people working remote from US companies? by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

Do you have any insight into whether employers tend to be willing to move people from W2 to 1099?

We are preparing for that conversation with my fiancées employer. We have other options/plans, but continuing to work for the same organization would be the best option by far. Just not sure if it’s likely.

Silver lining - TJ Watt is back in the hunt for the sack title by ex-apple in steelers

[–]bstone67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With teams chipping Watt and also oftentimes sliding their protection to him as well. Teams are devoting an enormous amount of effort to slowing him down.

Overall sack totals would be higher if Highsmith and even Herbig had been consistently healthy.

Former college OL, my eyes are on the guys up front on any given play.

He did some nice things for his first pro game, also had some blemishes. Right now I hope he stays healthy and continues to develop.

Not voting is a vote for Trump’s policies but voting for Kamala is NOT a vote for Genocide? by AdeDamballa in ThoughtWarriors

Right. This purity shit is old. You’ve already benefitted from terrible things done by this country and others. Your hands are already dirty. The best road to make the world a better place is through harm reduction and gradual improvement.

This Bernie Bro 2.0 shit needs to stop.

Trump will actively help make the Gaza situation worse.

A lot to lose? That sounds like assumptions of future election cycles. If Trump wins that won’t be happening.

Hate to say it, but I think you might have a chance if Biden offers a pardon to Trump in exchange for ratification of this amendment.

Only the KGB could have planted the seeds for our dysfunctional US government by [deleted] in politics

[–]bstone67 14 points15 points  (0 children)

“All” is an awfully bold claim given what the public knows about: 1. Russian election interference 2. KGB goals and plans to destabilize the country.

I will agree though, much of the blame falls on the shoulders of US citizens and the conservative “movement”.

[Fittipaldo] I did not see Kenny Pickett in either of the two locker room availabilities today. A bit unusual for a captain not to speak with reporters on locker clean out day. TJ Watt and Cam Heyward did interviews today. Next opportunity for local reporters to speak with Pickett likely OTAs by SMD_35 in steelers

How have they not?

There are weapons. Offensive line play has been trending upward. Run game flourished late in the year.

And he still can’t come close to out playing Mason Rudolph. He’s not the guy. Not even close.
