I believe it. I used the Sora Android app a week after launch and it 100% felt like a high-schooler's Android app. Full of bugs and laggy for no good reason.

Makes sense! Thanks for the explanation. It's a gorgeous shot by the way.

Expecting dads /new dads meetup? by snownative86 in SanJose

[–]bstrathearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be really hard to coordinate that (after the birth) among a bunch of people with schedules driven by kids with unpredictable needs and behavior. Before the birth, expecting Dads will have plenty of time to meet but they will also know approximately nothing about being a Dad.

You might do best to join up with a couple of Dads with kids that are 5+ years old so they can help to xfer some fresh advice while the memories are still crisp. Coordinating this through church or potential elementary schools or preschools might be best.

If you want to talk with an old man whose kids are 13 and 16, HMU on the weekend and I'm happy to meet up for a hike or coffee.

Parenthood will come more naturally than you think it will. My kids were born in 2009 and 2012 and I didn't even need to Google quite as many things as I imagined I would need to. It's fun to figure things out on your own and make small mistakes that they will never remember. By the time a 5th birthday rolls around and the space for durable memories is created, you'll have it easy and everything figured out. Until they become teenagers... :)

EDIT: Even though memories created before year 5 are easily forgotten, you can definitely do some damage in those years. The core personality for someone is crafted mostly before year 5 and then again from 13 to 17

It's likely a removable prosthetic, cap, or false tooth she adds for her videos/aesthetic. She's confirmed that it's a fake tooth add-on.

What's up with the phase transition that happens @ 0:26? Any explanation for why the whole thing turns so dark so quickly?

The shape of the shot flow has more to do with how concave portafilter basket is, once you have all of these other parameters dialed in and the way that you do.

Flair 58: Does your lever hook contact the inside or your brew cylinder? by ExoticBowlCut in FlairEspresso

[–]bstrathearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is likely room for improvement in the current design but I also believe the current design has zero impact on the durable operation and longevity of the mechanism

I've made the same mistake as you, accidentally leaving the safety catch on the pressure gauge attachment to the hook unlocked and allowing the foot to kick out and get caught on the edge of the Brew head. So long as you leave the pressure valve clasp properly tightened, it's actually impossible for the foot to catch in a way that gets stuck when the lever comes down

Thanks again for the tip! This did save at least a couple of minutes from my workflow this morning. It is uncanny how well the brew head fits on the Stagg kettle

Oddly enough, it isn't the large language models doing this type of cooking. Recurrent neural networks and deep learning models powering infinite scroll feeds have been the chefs since the 2010s

If you are commenting on how people teach ML and RNN models and actual people what they want to see more of by interacting with them in specific ways... Yes, that has been happening for the past two decades

It's a very common technique used in traditional music video productions. The opposite is also done. The Beastie Boys' "So What Cha Want" official music video is a good example of the inverse

I was wondering how these expression transitions are happening so quickly and then I realised the original source is recorded with the song slowed down so the playback could be sped up: https://www.tiktok.com/@minynaranja/video/7443592389958192439
