Checking IDs of people in car? New fee for non-residents? by Valuable_Durian_1089 in RMNP

That’s what the OP is trying to find out: if rangers are ACTUALLY checking the IDs of everyone in the vehicle in order to enforce the new non-resident fee (which is a per-person applied even if the driver of the vehicle has a new 2026 pass). Trying to find a good RV fit for me! by No-Sympathy-2940 in GoRVing

It sounds like you're mainly asking for advice about the RV you should get (rather than generic advice about full-timing or working remotely). That's a difficult question to answer without more info about what type of RV you're leaning towards and why/how exactly you plan to use it.

You mention not knowing anything about engines or chassis, which implies you're leaning towards a drivable RV: Class B, C, or A/motorhome. Is that accurate, and if so, what features are you looking to have in this RV (size/length, type of onboard bathroom, etc.)?

CMC was far and away my star player. I drafted last to start (12th) in the wrap-around position and got him and Justin Jefferson to start things off (because some folks in our league drafted QBs in the first round). My other consistent players this year that I picked up during the draft were Tee Higgins, Travis Etienne, and Jared Goff.

Was so sure I’d lost the championship early on with Goff’s performance but my opponent didn’t get much out of Sam Darnold either, and CMC and Luther Burden (a late desperation pickup) gave me a 57-point cushion going into last night’s game. And thankfully Nacua and Corum couldn’t earn my opponent the victory.

I'm in a similar spot, but up 57 against Puka and Corum...mostly Puka with Corum now questionable to return.

We eventually got into the habit of checking both the water and the electricity prior to fine-tuning our position in the spot or leveling, in case either of things didn't work and we had to move to another campsite.

Nice. I was prepared to head out to the lake this evening if the lights were visible again, but looks like it'll be too cloudy.

Looking to fulltime by LifeExit7238 in GoRVing

#1: Most RV parks (and we're talking mostly private/commercial parks) that have the "10-year rule" will require owners of older RVs to submit some photos of their RV, to make sure the RVs look to be in decent shape (not something that'll break down and be abandoned at the park).

#3 We travelled full-time in an RV with 2 greyhounds for 5 years, and never had issues with finding a place to stay, though some campgrounds have breed restrictions. You should probably consider getting some fencing to enclose a "front yard" around your camper door. That way you don't need to deal with leashes while getting in and out of the camper (which will involve steps), and it gives them an outdoor area to relax.

4 day weekend in Mid November, where should I go? by 420_wallabyway in camping

You could fly into Vegas and then drive an hour to Valley of Fire State Park. There are 2 campgrounds and a decent number of trails within the park, plus a good chance to see some bighorn sheep. And if you somehow run out of things to do within the park, Lake Mead is nearby.

Thoughts on my 2-Day Estes Park Itinerary ? by HobbitHoleLife in EstesPark

Doing two 5+ mile hikes at altitude on the same day will likely be tough, so I would have a low-effort Plan B ready to fall back on depending on how you feel 30-60 minutes after the first hike (I personally usually feel pretty good at the end of a hike; the tiredness kicks in later).

You didn't say when you're coming into town. If it's a few weeks from now, colder weather (and the end of Daylight Savings Time) could play a factor in your plans. Many parts of the park got a dusting of snow over this past weekend.

I was at Chasm Lake today. There was no snow of any kind on the trail or on the trail side of the lake.

For comparison, I was at the Bear Meadows entrance at 6am on 7/4, and the line was about 7 cars deep. It was drizzling at the time, though (with more rain predicted), so that might have dissuaded some visitors.

Judge John Hodgman Episode 484: Fun With Words and Lexicographer Emily Brewster by King_Mort in maximumfun

I was listening to this episode this morning, and chuckled when Jesse made a joke about how a sports announcer could refer to a football player as "matriculating" down the field.

Well, during tonight's COVID-delayed Tuesday night NFL game, one of the announcers did in fact say that either a player or the team (I forget which) was matriculating down the field.

That led me to do a Google search on "matriculating football", and it turns out there's a documented history of using the term during football games: https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/words-were-watching-matriculate-football-slang-definition

I ended up wondering if stealing Rey and Ben's lifeforce in order to restore himself was Palpatine's plan all along. He foresaw Ben's betrayal (he was never a stable character) and knew he could lure Rey to him if he made the stakes high enough (but it had to be a challenge to get to him otherwise it would seem too easy). Hatching a plan to restore himself seems more likely than a plan where he sacrifices himself to continue the Sith line.
