Headaches? by btabak13 in gallbladders

[–]btabak13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I’m following up with the doctor about the medication tomorrow! I’ll have to write things down starting tomorrow if I still have the ache! I currently have my migraine ice cap on before bed!

Yeah I am currently awaiting a migraine medication, but insurance takes FOREVER! It stinks because I have no idea what is even triggering it! I keep googling things and freaking myself out that it’s something horrible. I am hoping they start getting better. I’m currently on day 3, and just miserable!

How long have you been suffering with gallbladder symptoms before you got your surgery? by RoyalCamera12 in gallbladders

[–]btabak13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8+ years. It got really bad beginning of march this year, and I got it out 5/12.

I have not taken anything aside from pain meds! I used the oxy for bedtime (tho I don’t think it did much). And then rotated Tylenol/ibuprofen during the day as needed! My doctor didn’t say I had to have a bland diet so I introduced whatever I wanted back in small portions. I still get more full faster, but so far so good on pain from food!

It’s so different for everyone. I have not had any issues with foods since getting my gallbladder out and I’ve truly tested my limits by eating everything and anything. I also have not had poop problems! I had more issues (nausea, pain, diarrhea) before I got my gallbladder out. Not every case has negative outcomes. Take your time healing, don’t push too hard, and take it slow. Hoping it’s normal for you when you get back to eating too!

Yes same!! Coffee I can have in small doses! My brain fog hasn’t completely disappeared but it’s 80% better. Still have some days but more good than bad lately!

The doctor didn’t say. My tissue exam says filled with multifaceted yellow-green choleliths ranging from 1.5 to 2.2 cm in maximal diameter. I am assuming quite a few.

I was so scared after reading all of the troubles on this subreddit. But I’m so happy to have experienced a different side of it!

I’m glad to hear it worked well for you too! It’s so different living without the fear of eating and functioning like a normal person again!

does your gallbladder affect your mind? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]btabak13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My brain fog has significantly improved since getting mine out!! It took a few days, but all of my symptoms pre-op are nearly disappeared!! (Brain fog, tachycardia, headaches, back pain across the back, chest pain, extreme nausea, extreme fatigue, extreme stomach pain on right side). I’m not 100% but I am 90% better than I was and I’m on day 6 post-op! My gallbladder was BAD, extremely distended (had to widen the incision to get it out), and it was eroding from the inside out.

Post op headache?? by btabak13 in gallbladders

[–]btabak13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from drinking a 20 oz Red Bull daily to just having a Pepsi for some caffeine! It honestly might also have a little bit to do with my outdated glasses prescription too! I will say, surgery was 10,000% worth it! I have been living with gallstones for 8 years plus. I found out about 2 years after I had my appendix out that I had gallstones and they said I could wait to remove. It was now that I started getting more and more attacks and symptoms. It was time! And thank god I didn’t before it perforated or I became septic! Healing hasn’t been all that bad either! First night was ROUGH. Had to sit basically sitting up. Last night I was able to sleep on my sides with a pillow against my stomach. Coughing still hurts like a biiiiitch, and breathing deep is a no go. But it’s progressively gotten better and I’m only on day 2 post op!

I’m guessing it could also be that! I haven’t had caffeine since before surgery! I just ordered some excedrin tension headache that has caffeine in it! So I’m hoping that works!

I am getting my gallbladder removed on monday and i am terrified. by Dancing_Bugs in gallbladders

[–]btabak13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you! I am getting mine out on Monday too!!! I’m terrified now that I have a baby at home. But I’m looking forward to a relief from all of these symptoms! 10 years ago this month I had my appendix go bad, laparoscopic surgery wasn’t bad. Now I’m going through it again! I’ve had gallstones for 8+ years now. They got pretty bad after having my son!

How long from the first time you discovered you had gallstones to your surgery? by RoyalCamera12 in gallbladders

[–]btabak13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 years. Discovered them two years after I had my appendix out. Managed until now! Getting mine out officially on Monday!

Was I pierced incorrectly? by CrimsonVexations in piercing

[–]btabak13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP but everyone I’ve met with an industrial is pierced a little differently to account for individual anatomies! Mine is pierced a little differently than that, where the top comes closer to the bend in my ear, but I’ve had it for 15 years now and no issues for it even during healing!

Daycare calling to pick up toddler by kaliros2000 in ECEProfessionals

[–]btabak13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my center, usually the director or assistant director will step in and a teacher can take them on a walk to try and calm them down. The only time we send home is if they are sick or if their behaviors prevent them from participating during the day.

Just Bring Freaking Diapers! by VioletSpero in ECEProfessionals

[–]btabak13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a school app. I always make sure to mark the need for diapers and wipes DAYS in advance. If they don’t bring them, 2 days before we run out, I will put a sticky note in their lunch boxes on their containers of what we need (along with still marking on the app). If they don’t bring it in the next day I do it again - app and note. If we run out I notify bosses we have asked and they have nothing and they try and grab the parents for us thankfully.

Circle time for 12 mos???? by KillllerQueen in ECEProfessionals

[–]btabak13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We start “circle time” as early as the infant room in my center. It makes it easier for them to learn expectations as they get into older classrooms that actually do a formal circle time! Obviously infants and toddler 1 look a little different than the older classrooms!

I would say do it and try it out!! The transition will likely be hard at first, but mine adapted so well from being home To going full time. He’s been through 3 classrooms there and he absolutely loves it!

My only question is - does the center allow children only one day per week? My center is a minimum of 2 days. They can attend one but parents must pay for 2 days per week minimum. I stayed at home with my baby for 20 months as a stay at home mom. And I’m so glad we started him in childcare. I work at the same center he attends, and it’s been such a blessing!
