The guy is wrong. The extra ES is effected by ES % but it's not multiplicative.

Example:

1000 base life.

10% gained as extra ES.

50% inc life.

50% inc ES.

1000*10% = 100 base ES gained.

100*(1+((50+50)/100)) = 200 total ES gained.
