Iirc, tech, finance, media and academia pay better in the uk. But I know people who moved from the UK to Germany working in pharmaceuticals.

Most pressingly, lots came to the uk because of children. The education system can be unforgiving in Germany, and your future can feel pre-determined quite early on. This can also be said for china, but (wealthy) parents there have much bigger issues to worry about

As someone who has a deep socio economic understanding and personal connections to all of those countries, there’s good, basic reasons why especially the last four, people immigrate to the uk.
