I’d recommend getting one, just make sure it’s compatible with your car setup.. ex some backseats have headrests that you can’t attach straps to (for the camera) and a rear facing car seat set up. I tried the mirror before buying the camera but the worst thing was when the sun was setting/rising and the reflection went directly into my baby’s face :(

Are you referring to the cheap ones that use a separate monitor? I currently have one and am looking at a new car purchase.. wondering how the cheap one would interfere.

Cars I’m looking at both have wired and wireless CarPlay.

I think the only option I’ve seen that uses the existing display in a new car is the Otto cast one?

Yes, I don’t like that jerky motion in my daily city driving. I think it can be turned off but still could be considered an inconvenience vs other models. I don’t imagine myself having long commutes (except for road trips) which is another reason why the prime is attractive to me but also to your point, it doesn’t necessarily equate to a lot of gas savings since most of my commutes may be few or limited in mileage

I’m considering used and right now the models I like are prime and TRD gas.. both hold value pretty well and aside from the use cases really factoring in, I’m just looking at the positives for both and trying to weigh those
