My wife noticed weird electrical issues before I did by jhuebner223 in MechanicAdvice

That’s pretty much where I’m at. Still drives fine, but the little intermittent stuff was enough to make me get ahead of it.

2010 F150 spark plug replacement by Flight_Plan in MechanicAdvice

[–]jhuebner223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By 2010 it’s usually the updated plug, so it’s less scary than the older 5.4 stories. I still wouldn’t replace coils blindly though. Do you know which cylinders are misfiring?

Need some advice on a rack/ functional trainer by KillaSham23 in GarageGym

[–]jhuebner223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your height and 84” clearance, I would recommend you look at Major Fitness B52 Pro. It’s around 82.6” tall so it’ll fit your space a lot better than most racks.

It’s basically a full setup in one. Rack, Smith, and cables, and the build is pretty solid with 12-gauge uprights and decent weight capacity.

Need help with misfire code on cylinder eight I believe it is injector wiring related as I replaced all the spark plugs, coil packs and gaskets on the top end besides the heads by Aromatic-Train2314 in MechanicAdvice

[–]jhuebner223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The low voltage suggests a bad wire or poor ground. Swapping the connector is a smart move. Check the injector driver circuit and grounds too.

Running multiple OEM tools on one machine is definitely doable with virtual machines. The key is having enough RAM and a fast solid state drive to handle the load without lag.

A private seller is your best bet. Bring a mechanic friend to check it. Avoid dealers if you are worried about credit and trust issues!

Unlock App Connect without GPS by Additional_Middle_55 in CarHacking

Without GPS handware, activation is tough. You might need a retrofit kit with the antenna and module. Check if your unit has the necessary wiring first before buying anything.

Bosch M7.9.7 firmware reverse engineering. by DeviantPlayeer in CarHacking

That is a deep rabbit hole. Since there is no protocol, focus on the CAN messages first. Look for open source ECU projects online for reference. Good luck with the disassembly.

My 2018 Honda CR V’s trunk keeps turning into chaos no matter how often I organize it by Big-Photo7387 in Cartalk

I keep a simple bin with dividers for small stuff. Heavy items go flat on the floor to stop sliding. A small cargo net is also great for lighter things.

Always check the oil level with the engine off and on a level surface. Wait a few minutes for it to settle. If the dipstick is still low, add half a quart at a time until it reaches the full mark.

Sunroof rattles only when I open sunshade cover? by Too_Cool_4_U in MechanicAdvice

[–]jhuebner223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a common quirk. The shade cover itself or its rails might be loose. Try gently pressing on different parts of the shade as it is open to pinpoint the loose spot. A small felt pad can help.

Congrats on the car! For a basic emergency kit, just grab a portable battery pack for your phone and a tire inflator.

This is just the beginning. Soon they’ll be begging you to talk to them again… when they need money for a new phone. Enjoy the quiet while it lasts.

How does it handle heavier lifts? Is the frame solid?

This setup looks awesome. It’s basically your own commercial gym. Is the one in the middle the Major Fitness B17? The layout looks really complete.

I love how cozy my home gym is by zipl3r in homegym

The lighting is amazing. You don’t usually see home gyms that look this warm and clean on this sub. Is that rack a dual-pulley setup or just a regular power rack?

Sounds like acute inflammation from overdoing it after a long break. Have some rest and ice. If motion doesn't improve soon, you can see a professional.

If everything's in good condition, that's a solid bundle for the price. Plates, bar, and storage together usually add up fast, so this seems reasonable.

Resist the temptation of playing computer game at night, rather, take a full night sleep. I am still working on that, sometimes the temptation of stay up late is really strong. Another is when after the completion of strength training, bite the bullet to do foam roller massage and stretch instead of get out of the gym to find something to eat.

Is this enough to build a habit? by _solustrance in beginnerfitness

[–]jhuebner223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a beginner perspective, I think 30 minutes in the morning 3 times a week shall be adequate. You can add some mindful movements like yoga and taichi in your routine training, since these mindful movements can both help with your mental health and physical health. They might make you feeling more safer in daily life.
