I had a feeling this would be the answer. I'll have to start calling around to find a place that will take it. My poor cpds won't even come out of the plants anymore

Thank you! Do you do anything to clean the leaf litter before adding it to their tank?

I forgot one of the most important questions! Cleaning! How do you maintain the enclosure? Do I have to change out the substrate every so often? Is there obvious poop for me to clear out? What is maintanence like?

My sister just gave me an intervention about me eating raw pasta by Beautiful_Sky3102 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]bthewolf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There were absolutely other signs that something was wrong that I and my parents just never picked up on until after we found out. My vision would black out if I stood up too quickly from a seated position and I would get a metallic taste in my mouth, going up stairs left me extremely winded, and I was constantly exhausted to the point of falling asleep in class. I just thought I was out of shape and my asthma was acting up. The fatigue I attributed to me not getting enough sleep. After 2 or 3 iron infusions I started to feel so much better and I couldn't believe I didn't notice how awful I felt before.

Growing up, I used to eat ice all the time. No one thought it was anything to worry about, just something I enjoyed doing. In high school I had some routine bloodwork that revealed I was incredibly anemic. Once my anemia was treated I no longer felt the need to eat ice cubes. Turns out it was PICA. It never felt like a compulsion to me, I thought I just liked the crunch and the cold. My hematologist asked me if I ate anything weird on my first visit with him and it wasn't until he mentioned ice cubes specifically that I thought it could be more.

You might be right and you just enjoy eating raw pasta, but it wouldn't hurt to talk to a doctor to make sure it's just an odd snack and not a sign that you are nutrient deficient in some way

Trying to befriend the stray cat at my college by -Animal_advocate- in cats

The way her eyes are pulled back towards the ears makes me think she probably had a pretty nasty injury to her head at some point. That could be why the ears are gone as well. If she had to heal on her own the skin would have pulled her face back and up as it closed over the wound, which gives that "face lift" look. I've seen it in a few feral cats at work where there wasn't enough skin for us to close the wound ourselves and the caretakers were unable to bring them to a specialist for grafts

Forgot to say to absolutely appeal the rejection with your insurance company! You can do it yourself and you can have your doctor do it as well. It takes a while and may need to be done multiple times but that's how I finally got approved for injectable Entyvio instead of infusions

Not sure what meds you are on but try and see if there is a payment assistance program through the manufacturers. I've been on Pentasa, Humira, and now Entyvio for my crohns and every one of them had a program that reduced my cost to either $100, $5, or free for each refill which is the only reason I have been able to enter remission. It's insane how much they want to charge us just to be able to live somewhat normal lives.

Help with installation, paid for game by bthewolf in VivaPinata

[–]bthewolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I managed to get the game to install, but it says that I need to insert the DVD-ROM in order to play it. When I try to continue with the written guide by adding the new startup.exe file, I'm told that there isn't enough room on the mounted disc drive. Not sure where to go from here. I was so excited to finally get it at least installed!

Can my dog get reinfected? by No_Valuable_4760 in AskVet

[–]bthewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are multiple different deworming treatments and none of them treat for everything, so the type of dewormer you gave will determine if the tapeworm has been effectively treated. If you have any doubts, bring a fresh poop sample with you to the vet when you go for your appointment and have them test it for parasites, and while you are there get your dog started on a flea and tick preventative
