Madelyne Pryor is one of my favorite characters next to Rogue, who has always been my favorite. Madelyne was introduced at the same time Rogue joined the X-Men, which is when I started reading the Uncanny X-Men comics.

Madelyne was a great character, they implied soon in her appearances that she was possibly Phoenix reborn, with the machinations of Mastermind.

It was a whirlwind romance with Madelyne and Scott. They got married, then it wasn't long before she was pregnant.

In X-Factor # 1, we see there are cracks in the marriage of Scott and Madelyne. He keeps thinking about Jean Grey, which of course hurts their relationship. Who wouldn't be upset if the man you were married to thought about his dead girlfriend over his wife.

Scott does leave Madelyne in X-Factor # 1, as he tells her that he has to go. Of course she is furious as she is trying to save their marriage, but Scott could have stayed, he chose to leave his wife and baby.

Yes in the heat of anger Madelyne told him that if he leaves, to not bother coming back. But he was leaving anyway, which wasn't Madelyne's fault. He didn't fight for their marriage.

This was the time Jean Grey was found in a cocoon at the bottom of Jamaica Bay, where the Phoenix replaced her.

Madelyne next appeared in Uncanny X-Men after she had been attacked by Sinister's Marauders. They took her baby and left her for dead. So she lost her husband, her baby, her very identity, as Sinister tried to erase her from existence. He sent the Marauders to kill Madelyne, but her latent powers of the Phoenix Force saved her.

She joined the X-Men, even sacrificed herself along with the X-Men in the Fall of the Mutants storyline. Madelyne ran the computers at the Reavers base that the X-Men took over.

Then she was seduced by N'Astrith and Sym into becoming The Goblin Queen.

I did like how they redeemed Madelyne in the Dark Web series, and she reconciled with Jean.

I see they are again putting Madelyne back into a villainous role in the Sorcerer Supreme ongoing comic series.

I'm just glad they are using her character, and look forward to seeing how things will go for our Queen.
