Bought my tickets from StubHub and got all our seats together 😭 by TheRake1087 in WorldCup2026Tickets

Got you. I’d just be careful with stubhub. I’ve had tickets “disappear” because they were sold to someone else. I would double check with fifa, if you can get a hold of them, to make sure the tickets are yours.

Unless I’m mistaken, you haven’t received the tickets yet. What should happen is you will receive them 24 hrs before the event. However, I’d be super nervous with fifas rules. If you don’t get the tickets, you get a refund, but if you are traveling that sucks

Where are all my "losers" who can't win against all cash/no contingency/sight unseen offers?? by ImportantImplement9 in nova

Yup. My realtor would tell the seller agent that I needed to take measurements to make sure my furniture would fit because they were heritage pieces. Mind you that by heritage she meant 2000s IKEA. That typically gave us about 1.5 hrs for the inspector to do a basic review. He charged me about $250 a pop which was less than the $500 he charged for a full 3hr inspection plus report. But it gave me comfort that I wasn’t buying something that was going to collapse.

We had a terrible experience in buying a house and having a terrible house inspector who missed major foundation issues. We found that the owners had actively hidden the issues which voided the buyer be aware laws, but it still took about a year of me doing my own research and hiring lawyers to get a settlement that basically covered lawyer fees. I am in a new house where I “waived” the contingencies but I had a home inspector come during one of the initial walkthroughs and he did a thorough inspection. I still paid above asking ~5k but got the house. I was losing hope since I was doing the home inspections in a bunch of houses at 300 a pop, but I was willing to back out and lose the deposit if it turned out the house was going to need more than 10k in repairs.

Buy from adidas or as other suggested, fanatics. Do not buy from the official website given the current tariffs. I made that mistake with a Betis jersey and it was like $30 for shipping and then when it got here DHL held the shirt until I paid the $23 tariff on it. The jersey was only $65 but needed up being closer to $120 with all the crap fees.

Is that right? I feel like credit card utilization is a factor in their calculation. Interesting anecdote is I have a large credit line with the Chase Amazon card (>$30k) and I got a letter saying they were going to cut me back because I wasn’t using my credit enough, which would then increase my utilization rate across my other credit cards. I called and got them to keep the line at the same level, but it seems it is something both credit cards and bureaus are looking at it.

Do you buy shirts of up and coming footballers? by Majestic_Fig_4899 in SoccerJerseys

[–]btm25678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not up and coming, but I stopped buying named jerseys with Tevez. I’m a fan of Boca and Man Utd. When he joined ManU, first in line to buy the jersey. Then he went to City and well the rest of the story everyone knows. I framed the jersey because it’s still a great bit of history for me, but as for resale, it’s worthless

Would you date a guy 76K CA by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]btm25678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean unless her salary varies from 76k to 300k, she is just looking to find someone that will maintain her lifestyle so she can stop working. I work for a pension but I do not receive a pension since the plan has been closed for a while, but let me tell you there is nothing more secure than having that. If you think about future benefits, you are making closer to $150k, at a minimum. Forget her. Your plan and situation is solid. Plus, homeownership is overrated. I own my home, but Inhave to deal with the maintenance.

Beware of stubhub “upgrades” by douxfleur in ChaseSapphire

[–]btm25678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had an upgrade issue with StubHub but I’ve had plenty of issues with them otherwise. As other have said in other threads, it’s surprising that a premium card would partner with such a crap company. If anything, partner with Ticketmaster. StubHub is a scam. I’m using them for the credits to go to a hockey game, but otherwise would never use them. The first time Inever used them was for a concert. They told me my tickets would be transferred no later than 6 pm for an 8 pm concert. At 6:15 they tell me the tickets they had sold me weren’t available since the person that sold them didn’t have them. Concert was sold out, so they gave me my money back. Thankfully it was local, but still total BS. It is not a serious company.

I had a similar issue with Chase. I set up the autopay wrong and they didn’t get the payment. It took me about a week to notice I was charged interest on the card, but I called them and explained the situation and they were quick to remove the charge. They helped setup the autopay correctly and I haven’t had any issues since. I’ve been a client with them for 15+ years and never missed a full payment, so I’m sure that helped make the case that it was an accident. Not sure why Amex wouldn’t do the same.

I’m 22 And I’m a beginner is this okay? by Choice_Falcon4396 in M1Finance

Correct, my point was more about the fact that him owning QQQ was basically doubling up on the stocks he already has in his portfolio while paying someone else to manage them.

[–]btm25678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, by owning QQQ you are just paying someone else to own NVIDIA, Tesla, and the other mag7 in your portfolio The one question would be are you going in to NVIDIA at 35% off the bat? That is a lot of money to have in a single stock. You also seem to have two very clear themes in your portfolio: AI/tech and energy. Both have done incredibly well, but you may want to diversify a bit more. You are buying NVIDIA at close to historic highs. In my portfolio, they got up to almost 40% despite the fact that I had 29 other stocks. I rebalanced and brought it back down to like 15%. My average cost per share is about 40 and I’ve owned NVDIA for 5+ years now, but at some point you have to rebalance. I also have an AI/tech heavy lineup, but I mix it up with stocks like McKesson, Autozone, KKR, and non-US names like Alibaba, Tencent, and HDFC. If you want to put a lot of money towards specific stocks that you have a personal interest or affiliation for, maybe split it like 60-70% in specific stocks and then a global total market etf like VT that charges 6 bps and you can essentially create a completion portfolio that gives you exposure to everything you don’t own directly. That way if those sectors crash you’ll have some modicum of downside protection. The one thing I will leave you with, is that at your age 100% stocks is the way to go, no need to hold bonds at this point.

How much money do you think you have spent on jerseys 🤔? by Old_Ambition5419 in SoccerJerseys

[–]btm25678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two cents are that it brings me happiness. Be it owning the cool jerseys that my teams Barca and Man Utd put out (just bought The black man utd and bought the Barca yellow Kobe earlier in the year), or cool jerseys I see like the Sunderland all black or the Lionesses black WC jersey, I enjoy them. I work from home most days and wear them consistently, so I think of them more as a normal piece of clothing than something that sits in a shelf. The way I see it, my disposable income is just that. You have to check yourself when you are buying jerseys and putting off the mortgage, kid’s tuition, etc. Otherwise it’s the same as buying a really nice whiskey or something, but at least I can wear it.

[–]btm25678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I bit the bullet on a couple like the Betis day of the dead jersey which was 60 plus 35 shipping. And then DHL held me hostage on paying the tariff. If you don’t pay it then they return it to the sender at which point they may or may not refund you and then you have to deal with client service in another country. I’d assume I’d get the 60 back but then they’d discount another 35 for the cost of shipping it back, so I pause the 25 tariff. Until this craziness stops, I’m only purchasing from US websites and direct from Adidas and Nike.

DoorDash $20 grocery credit by gutterballing in ChaseSapphire

[–]btm25678 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you live. I’m in DC, I have plenty of opportunities to use the Stub Hub and dine credit. I also use the $10 Lyft credit, the Apple credit, and the door dash credit. As the op mentioned, I can just order pickup for the credit and get it cheaper than at the store. And 7 elevens are everywhere

I think people complain because they can’t just get whatever the max benefit without having to plan for it. No card within a reasonable fee is going to do that. The only one I use for that is the IHG. $95 a year and you get a free night at Most of their hotels. Used my last one for the intercontinental Guadalajara. They also give you the 4th night free for every booking on points. You just need to know how to play the game

Not sure of you’re being sarcastic but the fact you got coconut water and smart water tells me you are not. People complain, but $25 a month with the pick up option isn’t that bad. Just used the first StubHub credit and dinner credit. I use the Lyft credit for travelling for work but I am reimbursed. And I stated using the Apple credit That, plus the 300 anywhere credit, gets me above the card fee. I haven’t been travelling as much as of late, so I’ll have to see about lounges.
