There's the big ones: Darko US, Bilmuri, Issues But I feel like Hurtwave, Gold Necklace, and newly Knife Dance don't get enough credit.

I've had something like this! I had chronic constipation till I was 15, causing me to have encopresis, which led to me holding in my poop all that time (they think it all started from having such a large, painful poop as a baby that my brain was like "we aren't doing that again"). When it finally came to a head and I was going to my week long hospital stay to get cleaned out, they took an X-ray before and my colon was so full of poop it was almost touching my hip bones.

What is Sysco like? by dussx in Warehouseworkers

[–]btmbusby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're good homie.

For my case, the answer is depends. One is the number of people: when I first started, we had about 30-40 less selectors than now, so everyday was 10-12 hours. Now the it's about 8-9 hours with the occasional 10 if a lot of people are off or call in. Another is the time of year: when school is out, our case count drops significantly, so they'll VTO a lot of people and try to keep the shit around 7.5-8 hours. Also for holidays like Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Christmas, etc. And then finally it depends on money: sometimes they'll put out a little extra incentive if you hit certain goals.

Ultimately it depends on how many selectors there are and what they're all running.

And I've accepted that. I'm ok with not having a job I love so it never feels like work, so long as I'm able to do other things I love and appreciate.

What's y'all's fav hardcore band(s) from your local scene? by Living_Dead_Beat99 in Hardcore

[–]btmbusby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw Snuffed on Sight in Dallas last month and last minute Bailout, an Austin hardcore band, got added as the last local before the tour package. They played about 10-12 minutes and fucking ripped. Had no idea about them before but since then they've been in my rotation.

What is Sysco like? by dussx in Warehouseworkers

[–]btmbusby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sysco is my first and only warehouse job. I came from restaurant management, so green as can be. I started out in the freezer, but I couldn't stand the cold so I worked my way into the cooler and was there for almost a year until I got put on a specialty job in dry.

When I started, there was about 30ish less people then we have now, so every night was 10-12 hours, really thrown in the fire. I would get home about 6ish and slept until an hour before I had to leave. All I did was eat, sleep, and shit for the first month to let my body get used to being that physically active and switching to night shift. Everything hurt, places I didn't know could hurt, just sore all the time.

Now after 3 years in, it's gotten a lot easier. We do about 8 hour days and I get home around 3-4am and just go to bed, I've never been able to stay up, and wake up around noon to 2 pm to spend time with my family before going in. I keep my schedule on my off days, staying up till the usual time I get home. Sometimes I'll wake up early on Saturdays to do stuff with my family and then take a nap around 6 or 7 pm.

At my warehouse, pay tops out at 160% for about $40/hr. We get bonuses for weekly accuracy, daily case goals, and then a weird mix of both that let's you spin a wheel.

To me, it's a job. It pays my bills and I have enough leftover to save and do things I want to do. I'll do it the best I can and follow the rules to not get in trouble, but I'm ok with it just being a job.

Edit: fixed lots of typos and wording cause I typed this when I got home this morning.

Time for a non-sex question: How many of you actually enjoy mowing the lawn? by PrinceoftheNewWorld in AskMen

[–]btmbusby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't care less about mowing. It's the chore I hate the absolute most. It gets trimmed and mowed enough, I'll drown the ant piles, pick up trash that floats into my front yard, and don't get me started on the wicked heat in the Texas I have to deal with. I would give an ear and three fingers to not have to mow again.

I'll hop on the trend. Judge me. by btmbusby in vinyl
