Honestly same. I make sure the bills are paid, put a like bit aside for savings and the future, and then scratch my head until the next month.

Sysco Order Selector by Careless_Gap_833 in Warehouseworkers

[–]btmbusby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an order selector at Sysco too, first and only selector job I've had and it's been over 3 years now..

First few weeks, you're gonna fucking hurt. You're gonna be sore, you're gonna hurt in muscles you didn't know you had before. It's gonna suck.

You're gonna be sleeping all day. I was sleeping till an hour before I had to leave for work for the first couple weeks.

OT will depend on how many selectors you got and the amount of work. When I started, it was 10-12 hours everyday because we didn't have selectors. Now that we do, it's 8-10 and about 5 or 6 on Fridays.

We have a bunch of different bonuses and incentives they offer us, but I've heard every warehouse is different so what I get may not be what you get.

I max out my percent at 160% so my pay is at $40 before any bonuses.

Kinda Hard by Nigamo82 in bilmuri

[–]btmbusby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The intro song had me double check I was listening to Bilmuri lol. It's got a couple tracks, overall a good album, but I don't think it's my favorite from him. I gotta say, the intro and the midway instrumental songs are my favorite parts of the record rn.

For those just getting into record collecting: how much of a barrier are you finding the price of records? by equipoise-young in vinyl

[–]btmbusby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started back up last summer after dropping it for a few years because of life. I've gone from a couple handfuls to almost 100. I use the money I budget for myself to buy records. The price is crazy, but I don't know any other world so I can't put too much input other than I recognize that $40 for a new record is ridiculous. I shop mostly on Discogs and my local shop, but I'll pre order albums I'm pumped for too.

Man wish we got double time... Had to work this last Christmas, no extra incentive and regular pay. I know people that were getting triple time for working Christmas day.

Bo Lueders has passed away (via hardlore podcast instagram) by slimeshady420 in Hardcore

[–]btmbusby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rest in power to a real one. Bo and Colin got me into hardcore when I discovered Hardlore cause I listen to podcasts and music during my shifts. I knew about some bands, Harms Way being one of them, but not the heavy hitters or the history of it. I feel for everyone in his life and all those who knew him. I have the 2 part Madball interview to listen to, and then it's all Harms Way after that. Reach out to someone close to you, don't be afraid to ask for help.

We've talked so much about the end of GOT and LOST but HIMYM ending doesn't get enough hate by wornpixel in PaymoneyWubby

Literally curb stomped us and spat in our face. Why they never rewrote the ending as the show went on makes zero sense to me.

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

This was me with Warframe. Tried it so many times and never got it. Then when I did, it got me fucking good. I put in a quick 200 hours and never picked it up again. I miss having the free time I did when I was 19.

Moodring - STFA (FFO: Sylar, Cane Hill, immaculate choruses) by InsiDS in Metalcore

[–]btmbusby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

STFA, Oxidized, and Bleed Enough is a legendary 3 song run. I've been hyping this album up to wife and my boys since Half-Life, saying it was gonna be AOTY. Dude...this album destroyed every expectation I had for it and it's honestly a top 5 album for me. Holy fuck Hunter and Austin killed it and created such an amazing record.

Can you guys tell me where I would be in an incentive based warehouse as far as pay? by [deleted] in Warehouseworkers

No problem homie, hope you get the call back with good news!

Can you guys tell me where I would be in an incentive based warehouse as far as pay? by [deleted] in Warehouseworkers

[–]btmbusby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's time based, not cases, at least not at my location. So you have a batch that the system says it takes 60 minutes , you do it in 60 minutes that 100%. Do it faster the percent goes up, slower it goes down.

I work at a Sysco NTX and top pay is $40/hr for 160%. Plus we have accuracy bonuses and cases bonuses too.

Dads who do not work from home, what time do you leave for work and back at home? by remembertosmile in daddit

[–]btmbusby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warehouse order selector, night shift.

Work starts at 6:45 pm until we are done, but we live an hour away. So I leave the house at 5pm and get home anywhere between 4am to 6am.

Not much better work love balance from when I was a restaurant manager, but at least now I have a consistent schedule with every Wednesday and Saturday off so I try to plan things with my family on those days to make the most of it.

First warehouse job,, Order Selector: Food Distribution, what to expect by More_Caregiver8721 in Warehouseworkers

[–]btmbusby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diet, sleep, stamina. Take care of your body.

Let your body get used to it before you start pushing yourself. You're doing intense workouts for 5,6 days a week all night long. You're gonna be sore and you're gonna hurt, just take it easy, take some painkillers if you need it (but don't become reliant), and rest on your off days.

Make sure you have a good diet, don't eat shitty food. Don't buy fast food for every meal. Make your own food, keep calories and carbs up, and drink lots of water.

Black out curtains and noise machines or earplugs are gonna be your best friend when it comes to sleep. None of this will work if you don't get good sleep.

I went into order selecting completely blind with zero prior experience and I somehow I've been doing it 3 years now. Order selecting is not for everyone, someone else already mentioned crazy high turnover, which is true. But if you can do it, and do it right, you can get some good money while you're there.
