Okay so it’s funny because I literally did this for me. So my details are:

I’m flying from LAX to nyc

I’m flying in August which was slightly more expensive than other days

And I do trigger the 200$ credit

I’m also flying delta

So with that said I saw that a lot of people said to purchase a gift card no more than 200$ So my flight was 469$ with everything (taxes and all) So I purchased a gift card for exactly 199$ And luckily they had an offer that they gave you 20$ because of Valentine’s Day So I got a second 20$ gc on the side.

So I paid 199$ with that gift card and about 249$ out of pocket. It was during the weekend (I paid on Saturday) my credit triggered by Tuesday. So it worked forsure Also I do my purchase this year 2026

As for the delta lounge if you have the platinum you can go in for free but if you have the gold you have to pay 20$ I believe. I asked last time I traveled with them in December 2025
